Ace, which other premier league ground is closest to Selhurst Park?

For now they're local rivals in the league.

Detracting from the game, which is the main item of discussion.

I would've thought a Liverpool fan would've been sympathetic of a title contender falling at Selhurst Park.

Least this game wasn't a direct title decider...... and we weren't 0-3 up

So a bit of a dull day in your household today then Redinthehead!

I didn't see the game, but to be honest I knew we would struggle without Kante and Morata. that will be the case whoever we play.

We are over dependent on both players, especially Kante and I don't think we have a prayer agst most teams when playing a 2 man midfield without Kante

Still amazes me the faith that our fans have every time Fabregas starts in midfield for us....................it feels like a time loop each weekend

It's not like Palace had a full squad to choose from..

The win has given Palace a chance.

Everyone at the club will have a bit of confidence now.

It's still a long way back though.

Playing catch up isn't easy. They need midtable form for the rest of the season whereas most of the others only need 17th place form.

They are only 4pts behind 17th

Only 6pts begind 10th.

They are hardly cut adrift

It doesn't matter.

They need 38pts probably to stay up which means 35 from 30 games.

Nobody else needs as many points as that.

Therefore it won't be easy.

The team in 17th just need to maintain a point a game to get 38.

Palace have to do better. Not a lot, but better, and one win doesn't suddenly mean they will do that.

A good run for Palace will only get them out of the relegation zone, not much further than that, so they could easily get to a place of safety then have a bad run and drop back in again. Like Hull did last season.

Looking back fabregas was our best player yesterday. Just can't put up with Willian any longer. Starting games with 10 men every week ATM

posted on 15/10/17

Thought Willian is a good player. Almost single handedly won you loads of points in that season Mourinho was sacked, with his energy and free kicks

I get your point, but that is assuming all the other clubs hit 'keeping them safe' totals too.

The long and short of it is two wins on the spin will probably take them out of the bottom three. A gap of 4pts over 30 games is nothing.

I also believe I heard Palace had the hardest start of all sides, so their position is a little skewed. Chelsea, City, United and Liverpool so far.

They have turned a corner at a good point - only 2 of their 11 remaining fixtures in the first half of the season are against the thought-of top 6 sides
