Lesser sides as you call them tend to be more physical and it was/is physical sides that we cant cope with. UNtil we replace Xhaka with a more physical player we will struggle.
I havent watched yesterdays game yet but will be later. I have heard that Watford made a couple of subs and changed their style. Deeney said when he came on the first thing he did was check out which defenders were up for a scrap and none were and Arsenal have no fight. That is why we lost, the change of tactics by Watford. Its not because Ozil came on, although that might not have helped. Look at Xhaka .for their second goal. In one angle you can see he is stood their picking his nose while the ball is played across the area a few yards oin front of him and he des nothing to try to stop the two players there unmarked until he realises as the shot is being hit, by which time it was too late.
Xhaka has replaced Giroud as the weakest link in our team and has gone some way past Giroud in terms of influence on the whole team and results. Until we get a decent DM who can play a pass to start attacks we will not get back into the top 4. Get a world class player in that role and a decent backup and I think we can start challenging.
Forget signing Lemar, Fabinho is the player at Monaco we should be after (according to what I am reading, I havent actually seen him play much)
Although signing Lemar would have been great we had bigger needs. A DM/CM and CB were needed and Wenger as usual failed to deliver.
Instead of bidding £90Mil for Lemar we should have used that money and got both Nzonzi and Van Dyke which I fully believe we could have got with that sort of money.
You know what I fully believe we should also have sold Ozil and Sanchez in the summer. Everyone knew they didn't want to be here and sign a new deal so we should have taken the potential £100Mil we could have got between the 2 of them.
Should have then gone all out for Draxler, Nzonzi, Van Dyke and then looked to see if we could afford Lemar/Mahrez and Cavalho from Lisbon.
Why the fak are we also rely in Kos? He himself has stated he takes injection every game for his Achilles. It was obvious that he would miss a minimum 5-10 games this season.
first things first. In real time it looked like a pen. Bellerin got on the wrong side allowing that player to take the dive.
Aren't our players taught positioning??
Secondly. Our punk ass mentality allows us to get bullied and deeny (the porker) was right when he started mouthing off.
Third. We cannot finish, obi wan iwobi, ozil, monreal all had chances to score but we are soft as sheet mentally so we crumble in any given situation.
What is scandalous is making a profit in the summer transfer window eventhough we finished 5th the season before

I agre we should have sold them and said that in the summer. But that does not take away from the fact that in June we were told there was £150m available for player ourchases, then by July that became purchases and the new players wages. Then by the end of the transfer window we had made a profit on player sales, brought in two players, one of which had been agreed beforehand so his wages and lack of transfer fee should not have been included in the £150m and got a lot of wages off the books.
Where did the money go?
With the missing transfer funds? I cant remember if the £150m was before or after Lacazettes fee and wages. even assuming its after, thats about £75m missing. Add to that the estimatd £100m we could have got for Sanchez and Ozil and we could have had £175m replace them and/or strengthen in other areas.
i think the other 18 teams in the premier league are going to watch that troy deeney interview on bt sport exposing arsenal.

As if they didn't already know what Arsenal's weaknesses are. Anyone (apart from Wenger) can see it. You know it's obvious when even the least insightful pundits like Robbie Savage and Michael Owen can hit the nail on the head when describing our problems. We'll see a lot of average teams bullying us this season.
Our away record has been utterly terrible this year. Most teams no longer sit back against us when we're away from home, they're a lot more confident in taking us on.
It's funny, we couldn't catch up to the top teams because of the financial difference, but others have caught up to us.
Arsenal could have played better, but there's no question the penalty changed the game.
Until that point we were winning 1-0, Watford hadn't even had a shot on target and we were doing 'just enough' to get the 3 points.
The penalty meant we had to commit more men forward to look for the winning goal, which gave Watford more opportunity to push for a winner themselves and also gave them a big psychological boost
comment by trigg_27 This is Watford we're talking about. Not Man City. We should have been out of sight. Wenger picked a poor team and the tactics were poor, so nothing new there. 18 more months of this shiiit to go
Some fans' expectations are so low nowadays.

Don't agree trig. I was pointing this out in the game thread so it isn't out of hindsight. Our possession was reducing in the second half before the pen. And I could see what Marco Silva had changed. He pushed up one of his defenders higher in the second half. This meant not only did their possession improve compared to the first half but it was also dangerous possession "in the attacking third". The pen actually came from good attacking play.
Silva subbed a defender Mariappa, for attacking players, Carrillo and Deeny that underlined Silva's tactics to out number us in midfield. They went for it and we crumbled.
Referee did not decide the game. Yes, except the penalty dive and the offside goal he didn't change the game at all.
