......Incidently, Dyche looks like taking over as favourite probably some point today
I was going to say ‘we need somebody that won’t fight against the way we play and unique team spirit’ but I think, like the league win, that is probably gone for one reason or another or at least on its way out.
It’s quicker than we imagined (responsibility for this can be pinned on different people but ultimately it’s probably a little bit of a few things) but I do in a way see this as a rebuilding job. We still have a very capable squad on paper, but as we said, the 442 counter team spirit etc all worked, not thro Check luck, but because so many things aligned and (despite I’ll informed nonsense spewed by opposition fans and journalists) was based on solid foundations built over time - you know, like the comparison to Blackburn <remains> - these have unaligned and been removed or built over, respectively.
One thing we must do is stop looking back, as fans and as a club. We need to recognise that the season we won the league was a remarkable one off, never to be seen again in sport (probably) kind of achievement.
Yes, we can go on about not having built on that season, but let’s be realistic, even for huge teams, buildIng on title win is very difficult and consistency is even harder. So for us, a club that had this achievement come so quickly...perspective and realistic goals we’re going to be hard.
But the fact remains - our long term goal is the same as it always was, always has been as a club! - to become a regular team in top flight football..which N itself is still incredibly hard in the premier league.
‘Loads of money has been spent, not good enough’ - perhaps not, but we need to stop complaining - price tags do not automatically mean quality and bleating on about players who cost loads isn’t going to make them any better.
As I mentioned, I still think we have a capable squad, possibly more flexible than it was in terms of tactics and formation now. Despite some far fetched opinions that players can go from brilliant to awful/average voluntary at the drop of a hat dependent upon petulance and how much they like a manager that week, back in reality, I don’t see that as the case.
What that leaves us with is players short on confidence, not endeavour and in need of direction. I don’t think we are completely off track, but we do need a leader.
Bad timing with the season only just underway, I think Rodgers would be a good option if he left Celtic and wanted to come back to the PL.

Delusions of grandeur from Leicester fans suggesting Ancelotti
They had a freak season and followed it up with a decent showing in the CL. They are relegation candidates by nature as a PL club, this is just a re-balancing.
Yous are essentially Blackburn after the PL win, all downhill from here.
Dyche would be a good appointment if you can get him to take it otherwise Phil Brown or Alan Curbishley should be hired.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What Leicester fans are saying we can get ancelotti? I haven't heard anyone say that.
We are a Blackburn purely because of the shambolic running of the club behind the scenes since the title win. We didn't have to become a Blackburn and I don't think anyone expected us to repeat the miracle season

Not really. The owners will sound out a number of managers in the first instance. This happened with Ranieri who went public with his interest in the role. No offer has to be made to rule yourself out
Tuchel has ruled himself out this morning - why? Because we have very likely made an informal approach
I think Dyche will come if we offer him many many pound notes.....

Why are you making such a big deal of the title of the thread? If Allardyce rules himself out of the Leicester job then he's rejecting us. Or do we actually have to formally send him a contract to sign before it's classed as a proper rejection

Apparently he spends 3-4 days a week at his family home in Northampton. Think we have a good chance of getting him and would be delighted if so.
Yeah not surprised to see Everton fans wanting to move koeman on. I think Walsh has struggled in his new role as well.
Wouldn't agree that Leicester have been more ambitious by removing Shakespeare than they have, it just smacks of poor planning and management on our part.
yep...They spent a shed load in the summer though, no wonder they aren't happy.
Looking forward to their game with them in a couple of weeks. Possibly the first game with our new manager at the helm. bring it on.
Love this apparent obsession with how well Dyche has done.
For an English manager punching above expectations look at Wilder at Sheffield United.
He took United out of league 1 and is pushing top of the championship on a nothing budget.
Hardly an obsession lol, merely stating what a good job he has done, on lets be honest, a restricted budget to say the least.
Once WIlder has achieved the same, I will laud him with the same praise.
Big thanks to Big Sam for not being interested in little old Leicester - we've dodged a bullet there!
Dyche OK but a dull choice. And please stay clear of the usual dinosaurs on the managerial merry-go-round.
I feel sorry for Shakespeare but it should never have gone this far. The biggest mistake we have made was not to go for Marco Silva in the summer (and of course not showing Rudkin the door) but as things stand, there is something of an opportunity here - in many ways more of an opportunity than when Claudio took over, although his achievements will never be matched.
Keep a close eye on Julian Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim. This guy took them from the brink of relegation to fourth in the Bundesliga and was considered for the Bayern job - told he is not ready yet, go and get some experience in Europe.
Also la fan of Wagner at Huddersfield. How do Huddersfield and Hull find these gems whilst we are linked with also-rans?
Totally agreed about dodging a bullet with Allardyce! PHEW!
Cambiaso
Many said it was he who masterminded the great escape. Not managed before
Bit of a gamble, but I quite like a gamble.
It's a rebuilding job so may as well rebuild it all.
