Rovers 3 Walsall 1, Tommy Rowe, 7850
Although Walsall are not on a good run they have only lost one in the last 5 and draw the other 4 so they will come to the keep moat and defend, and we can not seem to break down these teams so going for 1-1 Rowe and crowd 7427

C'mon Rovers
I have been putting the results of the Charlton and Portsmouth DPL together as the news from the Keepmoat has gone from hopeful with many opportunities to score to hugely disappointing, seemingly likely to be defeated by a side who have made practically everything of their opportunities.
The substitutions were odd when we seemed to be doing OK apart from scoring, but apparently comfortably holding Walsall.
It will be interesting to hear whether those substituted were sub-par, but it did not sound like it from the commentary. Certainly those brought on did not set the team alight.

7 shots on goal, 3 on target, 3 goals. Rovers 16 and 4 with 57% possession. Not dissimilar to a week ago at Charlton. The inability to take chances is becoming marked.
Important that we win next week against "fellow strugglers" Bury.
Don i think it was important we won today.
We can look at the stats all day long but the fact is we lost 3 nil at home
Poor Mason had a mare in the first half but despite this we were the better, albeit defensive, team...with the wind behind us. I thought it would make a difference kicking into the wind and, when added to some catastrophic dwelling on the ball and failures to tackle, it was enough to sink us. There is talent in the team but: you can 't play tippy-tappy football in a swirling wind; you need creative players on the pitch from the start and you need a cutting edge up front. Marquis and Mandeville are not cutting the mustard.
A lacklustre performance today I am afraid.
Although we dominated possession in the first half we didn’t create hardly anything but when the chance came after Rowes shot was tipped onto the post, Marquis missed the sitter.
Mandy was absent from proceedings and I think we missed Blair.
Three substitutions before the hour seemed a strange thing to do and within a few minutes we went behind.
Wright was trying to shield the ball so it would run out of play but the Walsall player got the better of him and it resulted in a goal.
The second one also came from an error and so did the third when Rodney mishit a simple pass and they broke away to score.
Three errors and three goals.
Credit should be given to Walsall who came for a point, had no ambition but somehow went away with three points.
We lacked width in our forward play and needed someone ( the manager) to get that message over.
Someone near me said that DF went down the tunnel ten minutes from the end.
Did anyone see that?
It seems a very strange thing to do.
DF came out of the dugout when the game ended. Toilet break?
Cheers mate, I didn’t see that, it was what someone had said.
He usually stands in the technical area.
Ferguson told the DFP that he had been shouting at the players but at 0-2 down he realised he was wasting his time and sat down. He described it as their worst performance.
Well, if I'd bought access to NBC Sports Network, would I watch the Rovers or the Premiership? Unfortunately at the minute, I'd still pick the Rovers.
If Marquis had not given us the "miss of the season" and scored, I think we would have won 3-0 or more. If this was not the "miss of the season", god protect us going forward.
I felt sorry for Wright as I think he has been the most improved player this year, but even after his gaff there was chance to recover but the whole defence was static.
The second goal I'll have see again, but it seemed to be another case of a static defence.
I basically like Kongolo but he does get caught in possession too often - maybe it is the pace relative to be what he normally faces.
The biggest question is what do we do for strikers? Both Marquis and Mandeville seem to have poor first touches, and while I basically like Mandeville, he is too easily man-handelled off the ball.
Time to bring back Willo?
End of November week before First round of FA cup.
Thats my deadline day.
Sorry thanks for everything
Lanza, that sounds ominous, what does that mean mate?
Judging from the extended highlights from Walsall’s point of view they were extraordinarily fortunate to get their 3 goals from 3 shots. Yes, there were mistakes, but the way in which they capitalised on them was way above the usual class of play in League 1. They were breathtakingly fast and perfectly executed.
And that was not all. In dispossessing Wright their attacker needed luck and as with the other 2 goals his team colleagues were fortunate not to succumb to tackles or interceptions. For all 3 goals their play was absolutely immaculate.
And the ref ignored the foul tackle that gave them possession for the second having favoured them in the first half by wrongly penalising us when Marquis “scored” after their keeper jumped for the ball knocking Mandeville down in his unsuccessful attempt.
In the first half not only did we outplay them with fluent football more impressive than we managed at Charlton, but again they were as fortunate in defence as they would turn out to be in scoring their goals.
If there is a criticism it is surely of DF for making 3 substitutions in a team that was more than holding its own and with patience could well have secured a win. It could not have been good for the morale for those on the pitch.
To say that a team were unlucky to lose in the face of 3:0 is a most unlikely conclusion, but I actually think that this really was the case.
Quite right. Walsall did indeed seize all three chances with exemplary efficiency. However, had the mistakes not been made it would have been a goalless draw. This is probably why DF made two of the substitutions, to get Copps and Rodney on to try to make some better chances. The other one was to protect Baudry - just as he did on Tuesday. The errors were hard to take but you are quite right about the flowing football. We may be struggling for points but at least we are playing some good stuff.
