Yep, a combined wage of around £50k a year between us is no where near more than enough. Broken Britain eh!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That should be minimum wage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guys my age had experince of dad alone working and mum at home, so wage drop and higher costs are shafting us all.
Wife and i bring in about 55k annually, and it was always a struggle, especially as mrs was part time for ten years to bring up our daughter.
The younger ones such as arab are even more screwed by the system, and as JS says, food bsnks for folk working means we have a massive problem.
Tories are not fixing it, so let us hope Starmer might, but i will not hold breath...a radical review of how we live and get paid is required, with revolutionary thinking.

Despite offering considerably more than the minimum wage, many sectors are still struggling to fill labour shortages.
And there’s a reason for that which some folk, on this thread especially, won’t comprehend. There are huge sections of the populace who think these jobs are just beneath them, and funnily enough are the same type that voted for Brexit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, it's just about the money. Pay £20 an hour and those jobs will be filled up soon enough.
Get a job and need to use a food bank... Wtf is that? And those khoonts in prison can eat enough to look like bodybuilders... Houston, we have a problem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also to add the EU Posted Workers Directive (providing a host of employment rights to employees working in another member state) wasn't taken up in the UK.

And when those jobs fill up, what happens to the vacated jobs? £25 an hour.
That IS the free market at work of course, but do you think for one second the rich will end up footing the bill for this cataclysmic realignment?

The EUs regional poverty investment is exactly why people like yourself got upset about us paying in to the EU, Re-distributing wealth to pay for new infrastructure to increase GDPs. Many countries have done well out of it, and started paying more in to the EU as a result.
Look at the highway the EU paid to build between Northern Macedonia and Greece as an example.

That’s the one Hec, it’s very sad. 28 years old, my age as well. Police are stumped so far.
How sad, see they have confirmed the body of that girl in America too.
Interesting to see so many people railing against the coverage though, 750 native women currently missing in the same state, not pretty blonde cheerleaders though..
I saw the headlines. Another tragic, pointless life being taken.

One of the reasons the army try and recruit youth, easier for them to break down then build back up.
Some youth don't have many options and the military can provide a good career.
