Pretty sure it's still illegal here too, hence the legal challenge.
This is a company that has 45% share of the cruise industry and handles 19% of UK freight to boot.
I know the pandemic has hit them hard, but I wonder how much they had saved as reserves beforehand. It's only household budgets that need to be pragmatic and have a rainy day fund in this late era capitalism it seems, everything else can cut to the bone, give all their profits out as dividends then complain when crisis hits, and screw their employees.

Might be wrong but heard the MP for Hill saying marine staff were excluded from the roll over from EU law to British law.
Fire and rehire is not illegal here, it should be, and apparently P+O have told the staff they made redundant to go join one of the agencies.

I’m not missing that point, I knew what you were talking about. I’m just saying that they’ve made huge losses in recent years and Brexit has exacerbated that also.
Just read that last year Exxon, Shell, BP and Chevron bought back $38bn of their own stock.
And this year, they’re planning on buying back $22bn more.
Enabled, obviously, by absolutely insane profits.

Politics doesn't really get in the way of enjoyment. I like Aerial Pink even though they are a Trump supporter. Some black metal music can be decent, despite members of the bands being alt-right.
I do think lyrically it would not appeal to me if an artist was singing about rightwing conservative taking points. But mostly because it would be hard to write about such stuff without sounding really lame.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 that would be a challenge.
What’s wrong with being a Trump supporter? Didn’t think you were like that tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well he is an idiot one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think he’s as stupid as some of his comments can be. I know That sounds contradictory but…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's definitely not as stupid as loads of his supporters.
Q-anon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True but that’s true for every set of supporters.
Bbbbbbbbiden supporters aren’t all that bright either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Making fun if his speech impediment.
Lots of Qanon loons supporting Biden?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yer
Find it a little mean of people too keep saying he cannot string a sentence 2gether n stumbel over wurds when he has stutter/impediment.

It was easier than citing his verbal gaffes.
Are we saying that his speech impediment is the cause for him misnomering so often?

Hope the 63% of Leave voting Hull folk, the 62.2% of Leave voters in Dover, those 41.1% of Scouse leavers are chuffed with the way workers rights have been improved.
In the EU jobs become redundant, not people. It is unlawful to fire someone and then replace them with someone else to do exactly the same job, only cheaper.

Your missing the point. They have bus loads of agency workers waiting to scab for less money. That's illegal in the EU.

Mate, we had a cabinet minister give out a £14m shipping contract to a shipping company with no ships.
