🔵🤛🔵Significant intervention from Lord Frost this morning - who says Penny Mordaunt "wasn't fully accountable or visible" in his department, saying "I had to ask the PM to move her on".
Not good for Penny
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Penny does seem to be the grassroot Tory favourite now, according to those polling?..see Yougov
Just watched Truss launch her presser, and Penny is by far the better speaker and I fancy her❤️
The "brexit right" vote is split three ways now and among Kemi, Liz and Braverman, and likely as they get eliminated Truss will survive, but then her votes will go to Penny, as Truss just ain't got it.

Truss reminds me of May in her delivery and style..lacks passion and a spark to connect with voters, while Mordant comes across well....and not tainted as much by the Boris brigade.
Sunak was part of the Boris partygate scandal and dodgy govt leadership, so how folk think he will be a breath of fresh air or change is beyond me.
Truss was also loyal to bojo and the govt, so again, how is she better than what went before?
Whoever wins, I reckon the people want change and will opt for Starmer Labour, as Tory cycle has spun out now imo and time for a re-set.
Bloody hell she's worse than May!!
I'd prefer to see Johnson stay in post..

It's not all you think, although burning Irish flags and posters etc is just wrong on Eleventh night bonfires
I was in Benidorm for a few days when NI played in Spain and there are loyalist bars there, owned by guys from Ulster and Scotland, hence the twelfth parade malarky.
The parades are topical and relevant now, rather than archaic as Irishred described, as they celebrate being British and the union, loyalty to the Queen in her big year and expressing an identity and faith in a modern secular materialistic world.
I am not a big unionist or royalist, but millions are.. and it is an identity and culture to be respected like any other, imo.
No excuse for bigots hating catholics and burning tricolours etc, but the lodges and bands often give young loyalists an alternative to paramilitary gangs and crime, and get them into music, belonging and off the street.

You mentioned guys dressing up as kkk at orange or loyalist events, but the orange has POC members and race is not an issue.
A couple of loons dressing up as kkk is nothing to do with orange or loyalist culture and would be disowned and condemned.

Strangely enough, Penny is regarded as liberal and not anti-woke, among conservative minded...unlike Kemi and Braverman.
Not a great line up as you say and labour should beat whoever wins leadership.

I think Mordaunt is all soundbites and little substance.
"Blah, blah.....back to basics....blah, blah....proud of our country....blah, blah....tough on this....blah, blah....tough on that...."
I guess soundbites rather than actions win votes though.

Morning mate
Enjoying the NI heatwave lol👍
Who do you want to win Tory race, as a green observer, mate?
Penny for me is best of an average bunch, and possibly the liberal in the ranks, but who knows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi TBAB, hope you & yours are well.
TBH I'm not overly fussed who wins, as none of them look remotely competent. I also can't see a drastic change of their 'culture war' politics. And all seem to be intent in pushing through the nonsensical, and unworkable NIP bill. Which isn't great news for us...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
👍
Strangely enough, Penny is regarded as liberal and not anti-woke, among conservative minded...unlike Kemi and Braverman.
Not a great line up as you say and labour should beat whoever wins leadership.
All good here mate btw and hope same down your way.
I live near the Glenfield bonfire and went to the Castlemara one and it is just wrong with the alliance posters and effigies and Irish flags being set on fire, mate.

Penny is now odds on for next leader and Rishi is out to nearly 4/1 now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have a feeling Truss will pip her to second when Badenoch and Braverman get her votes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think momentum is with Penny❤️
Truss reminds me of May in her delivery and style..lacks passion and a spark to connect with voters, while Mordant comes across well....and not tainted as much by the Boris brigade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like Penny the most - I would definitely not want Truss who would continue the division in this country.
Sadly I think it will be a choice in the end between Sunak and Truss. Both uninspiring.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Howdy buddy.
Yes, Penny is best of that bunch and according to experts and polls such as Yougov, Penny will edge it against Sunak in final two...bookies fav too.
A third female Tory leader on the way...Truss and Sunak are just part of the boris govt set up imo.

I've thought Mordaunt would be a dark horse for a couple years ago so not surprised that's she's doing well.
Truss is useless and Labour's dream PM against Starmer so I'd rather she doesn't make the top 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Truss made me cringe a little today, whereas, Penny inspired some modicum of hope lol.
A very diverse leadership race too.

Next tory leader will be a woman or an ethnic minority.
Labour in tears 🤣

Why would that have labour in tears?

I think Mordaunt is all soundbites and little substance.
"Blah, blah.....back to basics....blah, blah....proud of our country....blah, blah....tough on this....blah, blah....tough on that...."
I guess soundbites rather than actions win votes though.
