There are no contortions necessary.

Starmer made it very clear that in his mind the joy of taking part doesn't come into it, you have to win (obviously expecting the Lionesses to beat Spain).

He then calls for the women who have failed to meet to his standards to get honours?

Oh look, Spurs get a win and Pawl re-emerges from under his rock

I saw that Obama said the opposite of Starmer about the USA team and got hammered by Republicans for celebrating a team that failed to win. I expect Pawl would have done the same had Starmer done what Obama did.

You can't win with people who are polarised to the extent they support a political party like a football team.

Just because he personally wants to win things doesn't mean he can't also realise the huge achievement of reaching the world cup final and what this team has done to promote the women's game.

I also want to win when I play 5-aside, which is what he was referencing, but it doesn't mean I think the men's or women's teams have been failures.

Haha, morning Crouchy I have posted on here many times after Spurs defeats but I have to admit I'm feeling rather jaunty today.

What a difference it makes having a positive front foot manager rather than the dull defensive tripe we've been served up in recent seasons.

What a load of bollox.

He couldn't have made it clearer that in his opinion it's about the winning not the taking part and because we lost he's backtracking.

I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong in this example of hypocrisy Pawl.

I think the whole squad should be tarred and feathered

If you can't see the difference between winning and losing in a trial/politics/5aside and a world cup final then that's up to you

The observer Q&A was very cringey but I don't think anyone without an agenda thinks he's calling the women's team losers

13 years this shower has been cutting public services, 13 years of syphoning the pubic purse into private pockets, 13 years of lowering living standards and still the have their fanboys.

That's just a straight reference to the telegraph article

I can't see any attempts to actually silent anyone, the accusation seems to be that the relationship with the prof at Imperial is too cozy and the direct funding he gets makes it a conflict of interest

Both of which are probably true but it's not silencing and doesn't show any evidence that reducing the worst polluting vehicles has little to no impact on air quality

You think 3% reduction in c02 since 2019 (which includes us being locked down) is more than little to no impact on air quality?

There’s more to the story than it that single article. Feel free to read further if you wish.

I think it must be hard for one city to have an impact on Co2 levels, ULEZ isn't going to solve climate change, but since 2016 air pollution has dropped dramatically

It’s hard for a city to have an impact on its own co2 levels?

Air pollution has been dropping since a lot earlier than 2016 mate.

This is just an additional tax, clear as day. Anyone that claims otherwise, having read the facts, has some strange agenda such as blindly supporting Khan for whatever reason.

His own report says it will make negligible difference by expanding ULEZ.
