It might have done tbh but what Hamas did gave them the excuse they’ve been waiting for hence the many discussions here about the possibility of it being ‘allowed’ to happen or even orchestrated.

Same theory as with 9/11 essentially.

I don’t buy into that fully as I don’t have the facts but the stupidity of Hamas to do what they did is just so incredibly daft (rage revenge factors acknowledged), coupled with the US’s history of foreign interference since at least WW2 (elections, assassinations, psyche wars, economic war etc) - you also cannot rule that out entirely.

Who benefits most from these recent events?

Hamas?
Palestinians?
Israelis?
Israel?
USA?
Defence contractors?


The theory of Russia Ukraine being a proxy war was regularly rebuffed as conspiracy nonsense, which it may very well be, but the parameters are the same or similar.

The world has mostly moved on from outright global wars to more localised incursions. Arms manufacturers have to make their money somehow and I’d suggest it’s as we’re seeing now: regular, medium level conflicts to keep the money coming in from the tax payers.

Always worth keeping an eye on the US defence budget. Halliburton made what? 40 billies from Iraq? I’d say that’s not nothing but it’s nothing compared to overall military budgets.
