I've got an apartment there, for family stuff I'd stick to somewhere close to Chania or Malame but there's also stuff near Elafonissi which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

If you want to party go Malia

I just want to explore, I'm gonna rent a car too. The hotel I'm looking at is 17km from the airport which is perfect too.

I really wanted to visit Santorini but it's so facking expensive, even in September

Plenty of culture and history in Herakleion and Chania, check out Knossos aswell if you can, it's what the Atlantis myth was born from

It’s so nice. I was at a wedding there a good few years ago

I'll be closer to Knossos so I'll keep it in mind if we do go, the downside to Greece is lack of halal restaurants because they hate the Turks

aye but the Cretians now hate the Germans more than the ottomans

Have you been to Halkidiki croobs? It's another option we're looking at, not an island as it's linked to mainland Greece

I've been to Crete three times. I've actually been to most Greek Islands as my parents used to take us to a different one every year as a kid.

I've been to Halkidiki too, that you also asked about. It was good, but I think I preferred Crete.

Of all the islands, Skiathos is my favourite I have been to. Rhodes was my least favourite, but I think that was due to the weather not being as good.

I've been to Athens 3 times, twice in the last 9 months.

Wasn't that impressed the first time but I've enjoyed it the last 2 trips,

Easy to get round with the Metro, most signs in both English and Greek and the people have been friendly.
