Dyson accuses Reeves of killing off family businesses like his
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Turns out he doesn't just view his multinational company with the majority of its staff abroad as a "family businesses"
But he also owns 36000 acres of farmland which is now subject to inheritance tax
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmm
If he’s any sense it will have been set up as a company and unless the company closes down, it won’t be subject to inheritance tax at all. And if and when this company closes down you can be rest assured it will be voluntarily or forced liquidation or most likely sold to another business.
Now what do you think he will have done?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact the above behaviour is suggested and normalised is why business gets little sympathy for the tax paying public and consumers for the NI increase.

It's a protest vote, like many before theirs; a reflection of their anger. Some will feel it's enough to have protested; others feel that the Democrats are so complicit in this massacre that they're willing to take it to the ballot box.
And when you look back in history and to where it's all led to, it's hard to say that Democrat governments in the US have been hugely beneficial for the Palestinian people. Whenever push has come to shove, they've always fallen on the Israeli side of the conflict.
In this latest iteration we're looking at tens of thousands dead and hundreds of thousands if not millions newly displaced, to go along with the millions already in the diaspora. Gaza completely and utterly flattened (again), daily killings in the West Bank, war again in Lebanon, and all on the Dems' watch and with their having done nothing to arrest the slaughter.
In fact, when has the treatment of Muslims abroad ever been a matter of great concern for the Democrats whenever the strategic interests of the US have come into play? What did even Obama do when Al Sisi overthrew the democratically elected Muslim Brotherhood? What really was the Arab Spring worth to the US the moment it turned against their interests?
You say it's going to be much worse for the Palestinians. Well, that isn't a fait accompli and given the long, long history going back many decades now, I think it's a perfectly legitimate reaction for American Muslims deny the Dems their vote, since virtually every US administration for decades, regardless of their party allegiance, has spelt death and destruction for millions of Muslims.
What's more, such desperate circumstances might even have persuaded a lot of them that the possibility of losing an election due to the loss of the Muslim vote is perhaps the last thing they can do to prompt a reaction or change of tack out of the Democrats - i.e. short term pain for long term gain. Hell, even one of the Democrats' own congresswomen, Rachida Tlaib, has abstained thus far from endorsing Harris - and in a key swing state too. It's a very, very long shot, imo, but I don't think it's categorically 'stupid' for people to think that it might yet have to get even worse before it gets better.

Lots of words. Can you name me an American administration that didn't support Israel no matter what they did Rep. or Dem.?

University tuition fees expected to rise
Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson is expected to make a statement to MPs this afternoon outlining expected tuition fee increases in England.
A freeze on fees is due to expire in 2025, at which point they would rise with a measure of inflation called RPIX which does not include housing costs.
A longer term view of fees is expected to form part of the three-year spending review

director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies @PJTheEconomist tells Times Radio:
"I’m afraid I have absolutely no sympathy with their arguments on inheritance tax and the impact on family farms and agriculture. This is special pleading by some extremely wealthy people. Very few farmers will be affected by this, for example....
there's no other country in Europe or hardly any others that completely exempt business assets and agricultural assets from inheritance tax. We never used to, didn't destroy family farms. I'm disappointed actually to see such special pleading given such prominence"
Can't see Trump stepping down, certainly not 2/3 months in. He might do it just before the next election however so he does get his pardon.

Greedy people pretending to be patriots while avoiding paying their fair share, advocating Brexit then moving the business abroad. See also the Pimlico Plumbers guy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right.
So you acknowledge that those wealthy individuals who this budget was meant to aim for will in fact not be one bit worried about paying this tax because they will shield themselves from it and protect themselves yes?
Which means this burden will hit the middle earners and those striving to make a living and prosper. You know; the “working man”.
What it will do is stop the very wealthy from investing more. Brilliant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Justify it any way you want Ginge, just don't expect sympathy. You've been banging on about SME's since the budget. Truth is SME's should be angry at their comptempories further up the food chain such as Dyson not the government.

I’m not justifying anything at all. Where do you get that idea?
And why would SME’s be angry at huge conglomerates or large successful private companies? Surely that is an aspiration for some of them?
They are angry at the government. They are the ones who claimed to be pro business and it turns out they are anything but.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of words.

Well done Keith

He's not up for 4 years of unrelenting, unforgiving pressure. It's cruel what his cultists are doing to him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The plan isn’t really for him to be there for 4 years. Supposedly the plan is for him to step down a few months into his presidency, hand the reigns to JD Vance who will pardon him for his crimes and Trump can ride off into the sunset to play golf free from his crimes while Vance and Thiel implement Project 2025.

director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies @PJTheEconomist tells Times Radio:
"I’m afraid I have absolutely no sympathy with their arguments on inheritance tax and the impact on family farms and agriculture. This is special pleading by some extremely wealthy people. Very few farmers will be affected by this, for example....
there's no other country in Europe or hardly any others that completely exempt business assets and agricultural assets from inheritance tax. We never used to, didn't destroy family farms. I'm disappointed actually to see such special pleading given such prominence"

Shrugging tax avoidance off as normal is justifying it. So is suggesting SME's aspire to do the same.
You've even suggested what Dyson should do to avoid paying tax in farmland he owns.
But you're not justifying it
