Problem is Spurs as a club have a weak mentality, when push comes to shove they just ain't going to be winning anything. A record six FA Cup semi-final defeats in a row tells us all we need to know about the club.
Best will be another top four finish, but only if the best team plays in every match, the squad players are clearly not good enough. I thought they were, but they are clearly not.

Going to take a while to get over the performance. It isn't the cup, not even West ham, it was the dreadful 2nd half performance that I find hard to stomach. And for Poch's comment that it was hard to motivate them after Madrid and Pool is just unbelievable.
I just don’t see what happened last night happening to United, city or Chelsea.
Sure they might lose the odd game but to collapse at 2-0 up against a local rival just doesn’t happen to them. That’s the difference between us and then right now. Players have a lot to prove now at the weekend.
My 6 year old son is normally in bed by 8 at the latest but as its half term I let him stay up and watch the 1st half. He then happily went up the wooden hill safe in the knowledge that we were in the last 8.
When he wakes up I will have to explain to him that not only did we lose but he can't wear his Spurs top today as he will be a laughing stock. Not content with inflicting pain and misery on me for umpteen years the overpaid lazy bstards have now started on my offspring.
A sore one to take especially v the hapless hammers.
At least it keeps the miles out of the players legs for the more important competitions but a very poor night for Spurs.

I agree Smeg, Spurs have a truly awful record in cup competitions, and Poch, as good as he is in the Prem, just does not seem able to motivate the players in cup matches. Surely at 2-0 up with barely 35 minutes up against a side as bereft of any kind of confidence as West Ham were, it should have been an absolute doddle to see out that match. But as in previous cup matches, Poch seemed a bit clueless.
Good Prem Manager, but an absolute disaster of a cup manager.
Maybe Spurs need two managers.
I never like when Spurs lose a game, and of course against a local rival it's that bit more sore.....but I'm just struggling to care that much.
I can't blame the players for being complacent, I was complacent. West Ham were truly awful, and without even putting in much effort we were 2-0 up, so I fully expected us to stroll to victory. Even at 2-1 I wasn't worried, as the goal was a silly mistake against the run of play.
But the players just took it too easy, we played it like a training match half the time. I know they shouldn't, they should be professional and should never have give West Ham a sniff, but it's just hard to get that worked up.If you look at our current run of games, if we all had to pick one game to lose it would've been this one.
Plus....I blame the ball.
Well that was a bit of a bummer.
Strange game. West Ham didn't turn up at all in the first half. I think we were surprised how easy that 45 minutes turned out which definitely had a negative impact on us for the rest of the match. I'm far from distraught though. This match won't shape our season and I'm still confident we can have a good run in the FA Cup. You can't win 'em all. If we're honest it might even do us a favour.
Fans were saying last night that the team he put out last night should of got the result and individually I agree. The issue was the positions the players found themselves in. There were to many changes to the shape and we were found out second half. United next is the perfect game after a result like that.

That's the problem with cups. They're not a barometer of where the club is in the pecking order.
Some supporters believe that by winning domestic silverware will somehow keep our best players.

That's true to be fair. Sanchez (2) and Ozil (3) want out despite some FA cup success in their time here. It's not quite been the leap to knowing how to win the league that we hoped it might be.
