"If you want to be a big team and if you want to fight for big things, it's impossible if you don't use all the squad and rotate in England."
Funny how it's usually won by one of the big teams then, eh Poch
It's a pointless trophy that wouldn't matter if it was cancelled next season but still pleasant to win it.
Would never criticise a manager for using it purely as a squad player run out
Maybe they should just remove teams that qualify for europe? atleast anotehr club would win it
It's a cup and more importantly for me the longer you're in it the more games you get to watch, and isn't this why we're all in it? To watch our chosen team play as often as possible?
Yeah you can argue the merits of what it's worth v how it impacts your squad etc. but that's up to the club to sort out, as a fan I'd rather be in it than out of it, I didn't get to watcha game midweek cause we are out since the last round, would much rather have wtched Liverpool than watch Acient Aliens on Discovery, which is what I did.
Watching Liverpool is like watching Ancient aliens, or some sort of similar joke, before someone get's in there

I think this could be a good idea, I'd imagine clubs in Europe would mostly agree too, be a bit annoying as a fan as it's less games to be involved in.
I only care in the latter stages, if you get to the semi finals you may as well go all out to win it from then on. Before that it's a bit meh. Why Poch bins off the cups is beyond me though, what Spurs lack is a winning mentality and the 2 cups are a good chance to create that, plus it would give the fans something "proper" to celebrate.

I agree. I enjoy League Cup games
Should be the ambition of every midtable/bottom club to win. It's an easy route into Europe. Teams like Neverton should be winning those things. The top sides don't take it seriously until the semi finals and then they still always win it

Does anyone care about League Cup anymore?
Yes
It's the bottom of the list in terms of what you'd be aiming to win at the start of the season, but I'd rather win a trophy than just set out to get 4th place.
I certainly do, it may not be the biggest trophy to win, but it is still a trophy.
The League Cup can throw up some mad games too, like whan Baptista scored like 5 goals at Anfield, also recall a great game between us and Spurs that went to pens, was very exciting.
The Carabao cup is part of Mourinho’s historic never done before treble. Those 3 finals against Southampton, Leicester and Feyenord will live long in the memory of all of us United fans, for eternity. We all remember where we were on those nights. What do you remember about those nights? Other than sitting on your sofa probably watching the games as well? As was I. But we won. Your teams weren’t playing. Remember that. Memories.

I remember that, that was like the ONLY goals he got for us whilst he was there , but it did give us hope for a little while that he'll be decent due to those CC goals.
Small club mentality is evident in managers who dislike Carabao Cup.Its a trophy and I would love to see Chelsea win it again this season.
Jack Hendry are you serious or are joking? What are you talking about? What match v Leicester?
its a fecking trophy and an absolute dis service to football when managers who i might add whos only achievement is, "putting the pressure on" start degrading a competition, I want chelsea to win trophies i want to be able to say we wont x amount of trophies and have fond memories of doing so, what does this Tottenham team have to look back on ?
Same manager to sacrificed and easy champions league group so he could put the pressure on Chelsea last season.
no wonder he hasnt won anything

Best chance of silverware for Spurs this season. I'd be disappointed too.

Zahr.
Meet Jack.
Jack. Carry on. 😂
Jack is usually a bit of a wum Zahr, but in fairness he's bang on this time.
The Leicester final was the Community Shield, part of the Jose treble year.
I still do, but the prospect of City returning to Wembley appears to have wained through an apparent disinterest by the club in reaching the latter stage(s) of the competition. That’s how I see it anyway. Play your best side I say, but they don’t.
I was in the queue from around 0230 at Filbert Street for tickets for the 1997, 1999 & 2000 Finals (having already travelled 125 miles) and so my appetite for this Cup remains healthy but somewhat strained nowadays.
The 1969 Final between Arsenal and Swindon lives long in the memory and based on that one particular match I have since seen this as worthiness for the cause.
