Why do people keep thinking Southampton will sell van Dyke in January. They already said no and we will not bid until someone else does first and those other teams atm will not bid as the player clearly indicated he wants to go to Anfield.

The same reason people think Barca will be in for Coutinho
Its simple.
If the money is up front sell... if it's not no.
why do people keep saying "lets sell coutinho so we can buy......"??
we were going to buy keita and VVD for £140m, without selling couts. so why would we need to sell him in jan?
as someone above said, its a world cup year. he needs to play regularly and be settled to ensure he gets picked. he has already accepted our decision and been professional. id assume an agreement was made by us that he can go next summer IF he performs this year.
so, f@ck selling him. but lets go and get who we need(defensively pls jurgen. no more attackers aside from stk)
If no VVD in Jan we should go for P**is Van L***ian instead
Lemar has been average for Monaco this season. That could be a bullet dodged. What were we going to pay again for him? 80m

More.....nearly agree. Hendo is good but when we are lacking mane and lallana and the defence makes stupid stupid errors hendo isnt good enough to drive us forward or shield the defence. personally feel keita will be be straight in the squad and hendo may miss out.

Like GB said earlier in the season, why would Couts want to go to a Barca in decline; they might not even get CL footie next season.
And Liverpool on the rise. The power shift from Barca to Pool changes the dynamic.

CFC’s daily attempt at irony with his size 12 boots on
Coutinho has hardly set the world alight so far this season and always seems to be injured. Lemar doesn't really want to be at Monaco I'd imagine either. Would make sense to sell Coutinho to make way for Lemar who might want to play for the club, Van Djik to improve the defence and getting Keita in January would be a cherry on the icing of the cake.

yes, he must be yearning for Barca. Despite losing Neymar and Dembele, they have been best side in Europe this season so far.

This is a very important point, and CFC has definitely proven himself the most reliable source of Coutinho info on here.
Selling Coutinho in Jan will I’m sure change the stance Southampton have on selling VVD.
Its always the same. Sell your best players and buy who?
You can't go out and buy a player as good unless you spend as much money. It's pointless
BR managed to utterly waste £200m and not improve the team so what good would it do to sell. The media and whoever can speculate all they like. He's got 4.5/5 years left on his deal. There is no pressure on the club
If the player downs tools then he doesn't play and ruins his own career, that would be the outcome if badly advised
It's not happening in Jan although JK is doing his best to push him into the arms of Barca by failing to address key issues with the team which is stopping it competing at the sharp end
Liverpool don't need any more money....you can have all the money but you need to be able to spend it on top top quality!
