We simply want to halt the slow creep of obesity thats heading north.
Why has this stupid Yankee bull crap become a thing?
There are grown adults who get excited at the thought of the truck coming to their town.
Actual fully grown people who have the vote and can have babies and everything.

I've known the advert from a young age but now (29) have not and never would give a toss about seeing a truck with lights on. Sick to death of the things taking up two lanes on the motorway at 50 mph day in day out and even as a kid it was just a Christmas advert.
Imo generally It's one of those things that attracts the lower levels of society.
A truck...red...with a logo....ready for xmas....AANNNDDDDD!!!!!!!"
WTF IS HAPPENING!!

never got the whole "put so much weight on over the holidays"...xmas is one of the healthiest I eat, lean turkey and lots of veg lol
The obesity epidemic is not just in one city, Diggers, it's UK wide.
But it's all relative: the US went past the status of 'obesity epidemic' about 20 years ago, and recently reached the stage of 'total eclipse'.
There are clothes on sale in the US that you could go camping in with your children. An @rse the size of Kim Jong Un would be classified as 'small', and it gravitates up from there to @rses that could cast a shadow over half of Texas. An XXXL label is sold as a nostalgia item.

Eat as much as you want over Xmas but then take it all off as a new year's resolution in January. Gym everyday for 31 days will soon turn that fat to muscle.

The States are bad, but I believe it's the South Pacific islands whre the epidemic is worst. A number of Arab and Caribbean nations also have severe levels of obesity.
Tbf while people need to take responsibility for their own health and what they put into their body, there's no explicable reason to offer up the choice to consumers to drink a can of coke with 34g of sugar in it. The WHO and other leading health organisations are constantly downgrading the recommended limit for daily sugar intake and 34g is really pushing it, maybe even above it. Not to mention the effects that drinking such a large amount of sugar in one sitting would have on your blood sugar levels and susceptibility to diabetes. There isn't really a way to drink coke 'in moderation' or 'as part of a healthy, balanced diet'.
And that's just a can.
Don't know if it's still legal, but in some countries a few years ago they were selling it in 2 litre cups.
Can't imagine why anyone would want to drink that much. I once tried drinking a 2l bottle as a kid because I wanted to see how loud I could burp, it was a real chore and I only made it halfway through.
The US supersize coke at Mcdonalds used to be about 1.2 litres which is pretty much like drinking a whole meal's worth of calories in itself. And upwards of 100g sugar.
Found it. It's 7-Eleven's Big Gulp.
Dunno what sizes they do now, but aapprently it peaked in 2006 with the 1-Gallon (3.8 litre) Team Gulp
From Wiki
"7-Eleven is known for their relatively large drink sizes. 7-Eleven commonly offers beverages that are 32 ounces (946ml) (Big Gulp), 44 U.S. fluid ounces (1.301 L) (Super Big Gulp), 53 ounces (1567ml) (X-Treme Gulp), 64 ounces (1893ml) (Double gulp), or 128 Ounces (3785ml) (Team Gulp)."
"Relatively"?
Team Gulp sounds like a really sketchy fetish
How can anyone drink that amount immediately following a meal where they've presumably had a triple stack burger and XXL fries too?
as ppl get fatter their stomachs expand..hence they need more food to satisfy their appetites
vicious circle and all that
You saying this from experience peks (or should I say moobs)?
