Haha definitely did not mean it like thatI mean 50 quid wouldn’t be a big risk. Atleast not when I get paid this month!

Does anyone really know the intrinsic value of bitcoin is ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd say no, everyone attaches a value based on a personal view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Value is a really abstract concept for everything, not just crypto.

Tesla stocks have rocketed during a pandemic when people are not buying as many cars and some serious years of recession on the way.

The entire western world is in a bubble when it comes to value.

Thats exactly the issue. The criticism doesnt actually mean anything, it just sounds like it does

It can be translated as the BoE director does not like the existence of crypto

A central bank doesnt like decentralised currency. Well no sh’t

I know it's extremely difficult to predict but in the next bear market, where do people expect BTC to drop to?

Will we see below £20k ever again?

All we have to go on is past patterns...

The 2013 high was $900 or so and the following bear market had lows around the $250 mark... The 2017 high was around $20,000 and the following bear market had lows around the $4000 mark

If the bull market ended today, you might see lows of $10-15k or so in the following bear market IF it stuck to similar patterns.

I think each bear market will be a bit milder though, as confidence grows in the idea of a recovery being inevitable.

It was a bull season for about 18 months after the last two halvenings, iirc. Which means we could have another 9-10 months seeing green!

That said... the 2013 run was ended by Mt Gox getting hacked and the 2017 one had various factors, like China banning crypto... so patterns can only go so far

Let's hope so! My plan is to retire at 50 (6 and a half years time) but another few months in this bull run might mean I can retire this year!

I did have one occasion where I had to get in touch with customer service for them to push it from the btc wallet to my nexo account... Just shoot them a message

So I’ve set up an account with EToro. I know there are probably better ways of investing but I’m only dipping my toes in for now. One thing I’ve noticed is the absolute minefield of “intel” when it comes to crypto.
Is there any real skill in which coin you jump on or is it just guessing what will be flavour of the month?

There is a saying in the crypto world, "do you own research" DYOR... It sounds a bit harsh, but the sentiment is right... If you read about some coin or token that people are buzzing about, take a step back and read a bit about it away from the hype... Check the whitepaper, check their website, check the team on LinkedIn etc.

And if anyone is saying "It WILL 10X" or similar, ignore it... No one really knows.

To be honest I’ve been told to throw a few quid at ADA (once it dips) by a friend who’s Crypto crazy which is why I’ve set myself up. Only something I don’t mind essentially throwing away but nonetheless it’s funny going through the comments on the various stocks. They’re either dealing in the next big thing or it’ll sink like the titanic.

Reminds me a lot of JA
