One foot in front of the other mate until the steps get easier.
Don't go cold turkey though, you might seem fine at first but the blackness can return with a vengeance I believe.
What's your ride?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mrs now and then, but on a regular basis a 1997 Suzuki Bandit 600.Very old school, street fighter style and noisy as fuq!
You a biker, bud?
My Mrs has been on happy tabs for ten years and at the hearing test told me not to do cold turkey.
Seeing doctor on Monday for advice etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes mate though intend not to use that expression. Growing up for me a biker listened to acdc, black Sabbath etc, me I was into punk and oi music.
I ride a GS 1200, had it s couple of years and it's a great bike but I miss my gixer, a k6 thou, which I had from new but had to sell last year when out of work, I had done 48,000 mile's on it but itvwsd solid and I know of k6's with over 100k on the clock. After football it has 5o be my favourite pastime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice big bike BTW....guy in work had a gxer 1000 tuned at Ballymena autotunes,,and the pics look class.
I was into tuning up cars, and spent loads on a Type R civic supercharged....left many bikers in shock👍
Had an M3 then BMW 335d and now calming down with a big white Range Rover 2.7 diesel bus😀
Miss the speed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I miss the speed on the GS if we have a straight but most of the time it's more than enough to keep up. You've had some nice cars there, mine have all been lplain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just my mid- life crisis, buddy.

Just in from watching Paddington 2 with the family ....now that is an uplifting film.
Take your partner, kids or whoever your with.

At least Chelsea are looking good again ,and the CL beckons on Wednesday with Kante, hazard and Morata on form.
On the black dog term,,and I one w you prefer dark shadow.....it came from a time myself and two mates xwere having girl trouble around the late nineties. We were all dumped, although one mate ended up married to the girl he split from then, but we were all big drinkers and suffered awful hangovers.
On chatting to both of them we realized we were in the same boat...dumped, drinking too much and dying from the day after blues.I read about Churchill sufferig from the black dog of melancholy, and he was into his booze too, so the term black dog stuck.😧
Tbbab are you in the Civil Service? As for depression bud, been there seen that still pay the odd minute/hour/day/week with it. Personally I just went cold turkey and went off the antidepressants. Found exercise and getting of the drainers in my life to be the best medicine. Antidepressants helped but I felt totally dead inside, couldn't enjoy the good things in life as much as they helped balance out the negative thoughts, not an easy Road bud, but we are made of strong stuff over here. Talk to your friends talk to yourself, recognise the waves when they are arriving and learn to ride them. Just never ever let them drown you

Yes bud, I have been in DWP /Jsa and now in December we transfer to train n Uni Credit....created bad feeling in work as we had to sign up, change work patter or go surplus.Twenty odd years doing such work is depressing in itself😁
Glad to hear you have beaten the dark side back, and I have been fine most of the time up until last few weeks.
You give sound advice bud, and I will take it is n board👍
Strange run of life's travails in recent times, with people passing away, car and bike trouble leading to financial worry before Christmas, work change and SAD lack of daylight😡
Just a blip, and actually feel better after chatting about it more, so thankyou Ja606 land😀
GTB
Very true about the happy pills making you feel dead inside, and why I am coming off them, as folk close to me have been on them for donkeys and I can see a numbing change in them.
That said, vensor tabs helped, and three years ago when diagnosed with moderate depression, I really felt numb inside and zombie like💀
I came off E, speed, blow, cigs and drink in the past...so this will be easy😳
The doc was hot......💋 And really helpful.
She advised one day on and one off the jack n Jill's, over two to three months, and not cold turkey in my case.
Cheers guys and staaayyyyy happy.☺
Good mental health till yeez all.
Sounds like a plan, all the best with it fellow blues brother
Good man Tbbab, always here to help a brother, don't let the bassas drag ye down

Stuff like that really helps with ignorance I think?

Good points.
There's a nice TED talk on this that I saw a while back. I'll try and find it and share too.
Ingnorance and the stigmas that still perpetuate do a lot of damage and can exacerbate problems for some. Anything that can break down such stereotypes is great in my eyes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dave.....can I call you Rodney?😀
Thanks for the response and I just checked the tabs.Vensir XL 75mg so pretty weak, which is why I thought stopping would be OK😵
I have been on them for three years after a girl in work said they were, with less night sweats etc.
I drank quite a bit for thirty years, and did E, speed and blow, so I often thought this could come back to haunt me?However, I was often down as a teenager, and felt a melancholy when other were naturally chipper and happy.
As fellow bluenose Lauders posted, at least mental health is being discussed and not stigmatixzed, as much.
On a history field trip to Cork n the 80's, a bunch of the us were pictured outside the gates of the local Protestant asylum.....we even get religious segregation into our, "Maddie's"😠
