The thing is the team is good enough, but the manager keeps messing up with his team selections. He is trying to please everybody, and it will cost Spurs dearly.
I said a couple of weeks back, he needs to nail down a settled back four and stick with it. I doubt he has played the same defence in consecutive matches all season.
Not rocket science to play your best players, and I would say Aurier and Rose are both clearly better than Trippier and Davies for a start.
How the fack are we supposed to play our best XI every single game, especially with the winter schedule now it’s game after game. That’s why you have a squad mate

Because that is what the best teams do. You don`t see the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern rotate just for the sake of it. Sure they may make the odd change say every 10 games or so, but to keep changing the team every other game is the reason why the results are so fluctuating. It is not rocket science.
If a player is seriously knackered then, fine leave them out, but until then play your best available XI at least in half a dozen games at a time.
Bad summer transfer. Been saying it since transfer deadline day and will keep on saying.
Didn’t buy 1 worthwhile attacking player so players like Kane, dele, Eriksen & Son can’t have off days because we have no one to come in.
Llorente is by far the worst striker we’ve bought for a number of years. He’s a bad Peter crouch
We need a pace desperately now we’ve lost walker & soon to be Rose.
Got away with it today mate as Liverpool and Chelsea just both dropped points. Simply not good enough drawing against Westbrom, Swansea and Burnley at home. Like I said sandy to you on a number of occasions mate. We are an excellent team but we are nearly men. We will never win anything if we don't change this mentality.

Don, That awful Arsenal side could be above us tomorrow.
I agree mentality is part to blame, but some of Poch`s team selections have been bloody awful. He has to take his share of the blame.
There is still something not quite right at Spurs. I wonder how much damage has been caused to unity by having Danny Rose back after his comments in the summer. Seems to have all gone to sh111t since he came back.
No we don't have a good enough squad. Kane gets injured and we are f*** let's be honest. We have no real dangerous attacker to take over his role and get the goals. Should of bought a better and more younger striker.
I’m at the point that I want Sterling & Edwards promoted to first team,
Reckon both would offer more than Llorente & Nkoudou
Well I must agree with Sandy.
Davies is nowhere comparable to Danny Rose.
What is going on there? Rose plays a full 90 against Dortmund and then .... disappears?
On the Walker side, Trippier was a bit better than Davies, made some good crosses, but we bought Aurier as the Walker replacement and put him on the bench.
Make sense of that!
Even Kane has come out today and said "we were not good enough". Has he had a "falling out" with Pochettino too?
Rose and Kane gone in January ... think about that!
Perhaps Pochettino is losing his shine?

Don, I wish is was only as bad as that!
You can blame Llorente on Levy not being willing to pay for a Kane back up.
But we have other problems with Danny Rose, and our fearless manager's choice of teams. I think the shine is coming off of Pochettino.
Poch has to realise that against bus parking teams you need width and pace from your wing backs to stretch these defensive set ups and destabilise them thus creating more space and time for the central attacking midfielders and strikers to operate in. Trippier and Davies do not fill the bill in this situation and when you have Rose and Aurrier available and opt to not play them then that is ridiculous.
The correct selection will create situations where crosses can either pick someone out or deliver into that corridor of uncertainty between the back line and in front of the keeper, that all defenders fear, and cause havoc and/or a goal, as in today's case from the only time we did so.
In games where we expect to be under more attacking pressure from the opposition and we are looking to hit on the break more then rotating with Davies and Trippier would make more sense.
I find it really baffling as to why persists with the tactic of trying to play these bus parking teams through the middle when we continually struggle doing so. What am I missing?

I was there Weare, every time he took a goal kick or whatever it was 20-40 seconds worth of time wasting. Ref really bottled it tbf and ended up booking Dier for complaining before he did Foster for time wasting. I reckon Foster genuinely wasted over 10 mins today.
Got to take into account the Wembley factor. We knew it was going to be harder having to play home games on a completely new ground in a new stadium, and it's proving to be the case. What we were doing now was working for us last season, and we're simply struggling to get used to things still when these smaller teams come to visit, and they probably get the extra boost from it.
I think Poch deserves to be cut some slack. Title race is out of the question now, which has frankly been made redundant by City anyway. Top 4 we are in a race for, and have topped our CL group, all without our home ground which we had made into a fortress. Any manager would struggle to do as well with their home advantage taken away.

Anyone at he game fill me in on he foster issue. Durram on talk sport was going mad saying he should of been booked early in the game for time wasting and continued to waste time all through the match. This is not what people pay to see when they spend their money. Weak refs week in week out and ruining the prem. if it's a booking after 83 mins after doing it about 25 times then surely the ref should of dealt with this a lot earlier ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was awful. From about the 10th minute taking ages on everything. Got booked in the 80th minute
Ref was a joke all game though
Bet Foster kept his own mum waiting at his birth.
I've seen Foster time wasting when they were losing at home. He can't help himself, it's that ingrained in him.
Time wasting really frustrates me as there's simply no excuse for the referee to allow it.
It's an infringement, just like a foul, and so after 3 occurrences a yellow card should be shown. Foster should've been booked after just 30 minutes, and then either sent off or forced into taking goal kicks as normal.
I don't blame Foster, he was doing his best to earn a valuable point or three. It's the officials' fault, the referee should've booked him, or the 4th official added on a totally reasonable 7 or 8 minutes (instead of 5) to compensate.
For some reason time wasting is part of the game, but it really shouldn't be.
I reckon people should think things thru before getting carried away.
Yes I would have preferred Rose to be on the pitch in front of Davis but Rose has made it pretty clear he wants out so I am not surprised that Poch has taken the line he has taken. Discipline and respect is a big part of team sport and Poch has to maintain that. What should he do? Play Rose every game and then turn to Davis once Rose goes in January? Sorry but that would send the wrong message to every player at the club.
I must admit I find the Trippier selection confusing because I believe Aurier should be first choice. As for backup for Kane what do we really expect? Kane has been unbelievable over the last two years just what top class striker do you think will sign to know he is going to be on the bench every week? Can you imagine the likes of Sturridge signing? Vardy maybe? No of course they wont and nor will any other top striker not as long as Kane is with us.
I will agree that against west brom we needed more muscle but I dont think Wanyama would have been the answer especially as we tried to pass our way thru a packed defence. We are lucky when he retains possesion let alone think he can play killer passes to unlock a 10 man defence.
Without Rose and Walker we badly lack pace out wide and against a packed defence the best way to get at it is to go around the outside. Unfortunately we dont have players who can do that at the moment. Alli appears to be believing his own hype as he has had about 3 good games this season and Eriksen always hides against the physical sides.
What would be nice is if we went at teams from the start instead of this lethargic slow tempo that we always seem to employ, especially against what is known as the lesser teams.
Pool at home, Madrid at home we came out of the traps at a rapid rate but Burnley, Swansea, Palace and today we looked like we just needed to walk out there to earn 3 points.
I am not mega angry (now that is) as Poch and this bunch of players have actually given us a new lease of life over the last 3 years so we have a lot to be grateful for but there are times whne we are far to casual and cocky for our own good.
Today was yet another one of those games. At the moment we are still in the top 4 and have just won our CL group with the likes of Real Madrid in it. Think back to not so long ago when at this stage of the season we would be in about 8th place and not even in europe let alone the CL.
As for the comments on Son, at least he looked to have some urgency about his play which is more than can be said about most today.
As for Foster I was jumping up and down after 10 minutes with pure frustration and yes the ref should have done something earlier, same as he should have done something about the amount of times they kicked the ball away but he never cost us two points we did that for ourselves.
Has anyone even blamed Alli for their goal yet? He was the one who gave the ball away in a suicidal area l, if Davies or trippier had done that people on here would be hiring assassins
