Spurs have no chance of winning.....

We have scored 1 goal or less at home to Burnley, Bournemouth, Swansea, Palace and WBA. Whether we are playing at Wembley, WHL or on a ploughed field that is shocking and not deserving of a top 4 place.

Title is long gone. Even if City started to slip up, we’re in no shape to capitalise. The lack of goals and dropped points vs the anti-football teams is killing our season. A 6-month slog for a CL spot isn’t ideal but we’ve only got ourselves to blame.

I think you'll be good for fourth come May. I think it'll be close between you guys, Arsenal and Liverpool though.

Hard to tell, it's all so close and a good run of wins would probably see anybody finish top 4. Everybody is so inconsistent this season.

From where we are today winning the PL, or even coming runners up, seems unobtainable. Third place would be terrific and fourth spot would be acceptable. Anything less would be a mini disaster. To go into next season at the new stadium without CL will threaten to undo all the progress achieved in the last few seasons and will undermine our short term future thereafter.

Playing at Wembley has proved to be, as many of us feared, a hindrance. The timing of moving to Wembley after our best ever return from WHL is ironic but this is the Spurs way.

Title was always going to hard but made even harder after a awful summer transfer window.

United will be in the mix for top four as well, they have a lot of difficult fixtures still to come.

Arsenal have now gone above us. One thing about Arsenal though is however good or bad they are, their luck never deserts them. For the second year in a row they have had a controversial decision go for them in injury time at Burnley.

Yeah I don't think anybody is set for Top 4 other than city.

Arsenal are the luckiest team on the planet sandy. So infuriating watching them snatch wins with lucky last minute pens every season.

Our memories are very short, because we are in exactly the same place (5th) with exactly the same points as last season. Arsenal were also above us then but had 4 more points than us then.

Out of the top 6 teams, we are the only team to not really hit good form in the league. Our best performances to date have been in the CL.

So let’s not write off our league aspirations just yet, okay maybe catching City might be very difficult but I certainly think we can get back in the mix for 2nd and 3rd places.

Yep, another gifted penalty for Arsenal gifting them an extra 2 points, when will Spurs ever enjoy such luck, come to think of it when will Spurs ever have another penalty.

And Arsene Whinger saw none of it.

There was nothing controversial or lucky about the penalty we got. We should have had one earlier for a foul on Bellerin, too.

Sandy, Don and Billy need to stop being so bitter.

Yet again. Maybe one year we’ll learn to scout throughout the season so come July we have 3/4 options in mind for the positions we want, as opposed to some last-minute crap to make up the numbers

Afternoon Genius, you are right, Spurs were in a much worse position than this last season, and came good. But it would be pretty embarrassing to finish behind that dreadful Arsenal team, when Spurs are in reality better than them all over the pitch. Luck never seems to desert them though. Could you imagine Spurs getting a last minute penalty in an away match.

posted on 26/11/17

I agree sandy, such an average Arsenal side. God knows how they do it every season with pure luck getting gifted penalties and harsh decisions always going their way. Lucky last minute winners is pretty much edged in their DNA.

bladdy hell lads. after hyping your team up so much, it's no wonder you guys are so bitter when they give you a dose of reality.

What reality ? We are bossing it in the CL against European elite whilst you are playing it out against Bayern FC cologne on a Thursday. That's the reality.

The Goonz must trouser an extra 12 points a season through fortunate refereeing decisions, only the Mousers benefit more

I think we spent something like £82m in the summer, which is quite a hefty amount.

We have had some unforeseen injuries to players, Toby, Victor being two major ones. Allied to a drop in form of Dele and to a degree Christian means we have yet to fire on all cylinders except for the CL.

We all (or should have known) it was always going to be difficult playing away from The Lane this season, yet we still somehow expect us to overcome these obstacles without any problems along the way.

Financially, we are currently out of our comfort zone against City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Even to a degree against Liverpool too.

Our wage bill is around £120m per year, Liverpool pay out over £165m, Arsenal, Chelsea, United & City are all well in excess of £200m.

For those of you who say we have to match them, just exactly where is the money going to come from?

Until our revenues increase, we have to cut our cloth according to our means. The new stadium will allow us a good bit of latitude going forward, however our business model will remain the same over the next few seasons in my opinion.

That is developing young players, signing a few names if possible but otherwise building from within.

I am not sure that buying players for ridiculous sums is good for a club anyway. Looks like Neymar could be on his way to Madrid, which is where he wanted to go in the first place.

Makes me wonder if his move to PSG wasn’t clever ploy to engineer joining Real Madrid. Barcelona would sell directly to RM, so maybe part of the deal was spend a year at PSG and then go to Madrid.

It would not surprise me in the least if that was the case
