Better than Mbappe yes
Mbappe better than rooney
forget the past 5 or so years of rooneys career.
Rooney had everything.
As the op said.
Pace
Power
Aggression
Skill
Goals
Creativity
There werent many better players around than rooney when he was at his best.
Messi wasnt better than rooney at 18 either and hes now been the best player in the world for a while, along with Ronaldo who also wasnt as good as Rooney at 18.
Means fack all
-------------------------------------------------
Rooney has never, ever, EVER been as good as Messi in his life. At 30, at 25, at 20, at 17, at 13, at 10, at 5, in their mothers' bellies - EVER. I saw Messi at 17/18 at Barca and Rooney has never been as gifted. Not even close.
As for Rooney vs Mbappe, it's a pretty pointless argument. Rooney at 18 wasn't better than Mbappe is now, and there's no telling Mbappe will keep improving either. Highly talented French players from Anelka to Benzema to even Martial now have stalled when I expected them to step it up and didn't developed as I expected.

I will take that bet.
He’s 10% of the way there at 18, Rooney is nearly done on 328 for club and country.
Mbappe on 35 currently. Needs 20 a year for 15 years roughly.

We shall see.
Maybe Rooney will leave Everton for Monaco this winter and bang fifty in by the end of the Ligue Un campaign against the likes of Cochon Grande Athletique and Fils-de-Pute.
Or maybe he will go to america or china and score 70 goals a season for the next few years.
they're cannon fodder leagues, just like Ligue 1
Was funny in the build up to World Cup 2010, when United fans said Roon was Messi level.
However, he was the most talented player of his generation as a teenager.
And at least he had one decent tournament for England, unlike Gerrard!
I see the routine overrating of the Prem is happening again.
I don’t know why people our league is so tough to score goals in compared to the likes of France and Germany.
Outside the top 6 our league is no better than those leagues, as shown by non top 6 aides regularly embarrassing themselves when they manage to qualify for Europe.
We just have a little more depth at the top end, thats it.
The likes of Stoke or West Brom are no better than Rennes or St Etienne, despite costing vastly more to put together.
Rooney at one point was the best tracker back in the world, mbappe has nothing on that.
