Should Dele Alli Be Dropped?

I don’t think he is playing his best, but then again I don’t think the team is playing it’s best either.

We seem to have gone into a pattern of slow build ups again and it does not suit us at all. Also no one wants to beat a player, what happened to taking the game to the opposition?

I think having Victor and Toby both out also creates a void in the team, they were part of a very strong spine and without them we look more vulnerable.

Rumours now that United are willing to pay £175m for Dele, which on current form is ridiculous money.

However I might be tempted if they offered Rashford and Martial in exchange

Poch would ruin Rashford and Martial's development.

Mourinho has improved both players' defensive awareness, tracking back, work rates, man-marking, tracking back, safety-first short passing, cross blocking and tracking back immeasurably.

All of that would go out of the window under Poch. They are better staying at United to continue their development into top fullbacks.

As a few have said, I think he just needs to know he's not an automatic starter all the time. I've thought he's looked poor for quite some time but then he pops up with a goal or an assist..and it makes me think again.

is Dele the real problem, surely the issue is that we cant get behind the defences now since walker left and rose,s injury/ form has gone down, this has been an issue all season, even last season we had problems with bus parking defences, Dele was the only one that got behind on Saturday to supply the cross for Kanes goal

No Dele is not the problem, the problem is as you say Spurs are not getting behind the defences, when Trippier and Davies play, because neither can beat a player. Aurier and Rose against Dortmund were good, so not sure why Poch dropped both Saturday, when they clearly can get beyond the last defender.

obviously poch knows what we need and has either been badly advised or made poor choices twice in getting Ninja and N'koudou, lets hope he gets it right soon

Alli has been quite annoying recently. Responsible for the give away goal to WBA. But I don't think he's lost his moxy. He is still dazzling midfield opposition.
I think the problem with the team is at full back. Davies and Trippier are not as good as Rose and Aurier.
Davies is particularly vulnerable to speedsters.
And we are missing a key player, Alderweireld.
Pochettino has something to answer for in his team selection.

The problem with dropping Dele is that his one of them players that can produce 1 piece of magic that can win you a game.

His not been no where as good as we all know he can be , but then again either had Eriksen.

I think Wanyama being injured has had a bigger impact than we thought this season.

Trippier has the best minutes per assist record in the Premiership since 2015, and he's just 2 off the genius that is KDB this season. Aurier is getting better but don't underestimate Trippier's importance.

I think we can all agree that popping up so consistently with goals and assists is a gift. Can we really afford to drop that to the bench ?

Last season it feels like the goals were spread around a lot more than they are now. I remember tripped rose Davies Wanyama Dier etc popping up with goals last season

I personally rate Davies and have no qualms with him being first choice at the moment.

Davies has two already this season to be fair, and a few assists. Not bad for a LB.

Definitely not, he has been productive in terms of goals and assists and underrated in terms of overall contribution
