Very difficult to predict the line up.

I would love to have seen what the first training sessions have been like and the response of the players. More importantly i can't wait to see what players par dew starts with.

Difficult to predict the line up as I have no idea who's injured.

Honorificly, Gibbs and Phillips looked injured against Toon and obviously Mozza, Brunt and Chadli have all been out for some time.

Looking forward to it and feeling excited about AP's appointment now it's settled in. The football will be better, that's for sure.

"See this round spherical thing? It's called a football. You're allowed to give it to each other, move around and try and get it into that goal over there".

Huge game. Really need Gibbs back as Zaha usually tears us apart. Time to start Burke as well. Pardew likes his wingers so I'm hoping he will get the best out of him.

3-1 Albion

Palace haven't scored an away goal since April.

Their last 9 away games. Apparently no side has gone 10 Premier League away matches without a goal.

Think I'd take a 0-0 now

Can't afford a draw we need to start winning and, preferably, with a clean sheet, just to remind us what it feels like. 1-0.

3 games. 3 points.

Very close to relegation form.

Should be beating either Newcastle or Palace. Ideally both.

But... fair enough... there was more intent today. With a bit of luck (which all clubs need) there could be better results to come.

Soooooooooo much better today.

I’m encouraged we played like that and AP has only had 2 training sessions with them. Deserved the 3 points today but very positive signs for me. Especially considering we had 5/6 first teamers out!

However much improved we were, we still surrendered 2 points at home to the bottom club who can't buy a goal away from home. I wish I had your optimism, JH.

Phillips/Chadli/Morrison/Brunt out. That's a lot of creativity missing. Thought we did well all things considered barring 15mins at the end of the first half.

I agree the points we are missing out on in winnable games is becoming a serious issue. But we have an injury ravaged squad, low on confidence that hasn't won in 11 or whatever and we know who is responsible for that.

Hegazi/Gibbs/Field all quality today.

They couldn't buy a goal yesterday either. It was attack Vs defence for 75 minutes of the match.

You're right, it's points dropped and another game we should have looked to take 3 points from gone.

My take is just it was so much better watch. It's the first time I've come away from the game feeling positive and actually enjoying what I've seen. We need points for sure, but i'll take that.

JH - the better football and more enjoyable atmosphere will be scant consolation if we get relegated and are unable to lock horns next season with our nearest (well 4th nearest, actually) and dearest.
Pardew has to instil some confidence into this lot. The ability is there.
