You can't be offside if the ball is passed backwards...
And now you have the answer please delete this article
Pretty simple why he wasn't offside. A square ball or pass backwards you can't be offside
When the ball was chipped forward he was in an offside position, inteferring with play , was he not?
I was also querying the official'ness' of Lacazette's goal.
Hoping that the officials will deny for offside

You can.
You can't be offside if you're behind the ball when it's passed.
The was a goal not given for offside against us earlier in the season, forget which game it was, due to it being passed backwards. However the attacker was ahead of the ball when the pass was made and therefore should have been offside.

I don't think he was?
But if so, no he's not interfering.

Also can you also be offside if the ball is passed back and there is not at least one opposition player betweenyou and the goal?

This what I thought, basically if there's a two on one with the keeper and player who scores isn't ahead of the ball then it's a goal, Lacazette was behind Ramsey when he laid it off.
Ramsey was a mile onside. Lacazette was behind Ramsey when Ramsey passed to him. Where exactly are you calling for offside?
Never even close to being offside.
I interpret it as if the goalie comes sprinting 20 yards out and misses the ball.
Two players go through on goal, no keeper or opposition player and the player with the ball passes it backwards then it’s offside.
I may be wrong
I'm genuinely dismayed when a football fan doesn't understand the offside rule.
So to clarify - Lacazette was not offside for his goal, because he was behind the ball when passed back to him from Ramsey?

Nothing to do with De Gea. You can't be offside if you're behind the ball.
Okay, now that's clarified
