This wont go down well but the fact is we won't sell all our seats to Loyal Rovers. Too many Leeds fans are buying tickets in the Rovers areas of the ground. The mix of supporters is usually toxic and very unpleasant. I'm sorry for your pals but I think it's a good move by the club for crowd segregation and financial reasons.

1PelDRFC.....they have already sold the seats,my friends have had those seats since we moved to the Keepmoatand & are life long supporters, they now have resold the seats to pondlife.

Lanzo,
I can sympathise with your friends but we have to be realistic we need the money. If we had more support there would not be a problem. As for losing STH next season if it's in the blood they will be back. I normally go the Reading game but I can't make it this time! I seem to recall a certain Alf is now playing for Reading

I can see both sides of this one.

Leeds will bring a big following if allowed to do so. Donny would be foolish to pass up one of their few chances of a full house this season.

HOWEVER - They could not organize a pea soup in a pea soup making factory (sometimes called breweries). Even less could they communicate that they are having one!

Let's start with organization. Do we not forecast how many season tickets we're going to sell? To give them a clue, with the run that we ended last season, it's likely to be fewer than last season. With fewer ST sales is it not reasonable to make some areas only available for matchday sales? I'd understand the difficulty if we sold 8000+ STs and 12000 attended regularly. They don't so there should be no problem at all in having a reserved "away fan overflow area"

Now communication. If we have to disrupt ST holders because we are incompetent organizing our ST sales, OFFER THEM SOMETHING. Complimentary tickets for our 3rd round FA cup game (if drawn at home); better seats for the Leeds game; a premium club upgrade at the next home fixture. It's not rocket science! You never know, it might even result in an additional premium club membership being purchased next season.

The sooner they boot out the people responsible in the commercial dept, the better.

If there were No hooligans then there would be no problem. No matter where you sit on that Friday night there will be somebody near you shouting for Leeds. I am not being negative, but I said what I thought and knew to be fact last night on the subject of hooligans

You are spot on fuzzy they could'nt run a bath never mind a football club.Yet again the club is shafting the season ticket holders and they will get away with it i expect
Alex you say if its in the blood they will be back they probably will but it wont encourage others to become season ticket holders will it and thats what should be trying to do.Yet again we treat our most loyal fans like 2nd rate citizens when will they learn.Hang your heads in shame DRFC.
Thanks lanza for bringing this to our attention

I have made my position very clear about our commercial team or the lack of it in the past. My opinion is purely based on the financial side, we need the income from this game. The only thing that surprises me is that anyone would expect the
Commercial team to handle it well!
Now come on Donnybrook give a little in return perhaps a

It might do the trick Alex, it could put the Commercial team to sleep so they cannot cause any more problems.

"We need the money" I don't believe a true Rovers fan can put money before supporters. Why don't we just move the game to SMELL END ROAD ask them nicely if we can have the gate money because we moved the game to accomodate their vast low life following, give them the 3 points, and ask the ref to wear a white shirt so everything is totally against us.Let me crawl back to Belle Vue where we had true supporters who never considered money before the club.ROVERS TIL I DIE

It's a business, and in business you have to do whats best for the company, sounds a bit harsh i know, but in my humble opinion it's a smart decision.

I'm with you lanzarote, I'd rather be playing in the Conference and have some pride in my club rather than cajole to our bitterest rivals. In fact I was very proud of our club during our Conference days because we were well run and I was always sure we'd move on to better things. However, if there could offer a compromise here and I was JR I'd send a letter with a sincere apology and complementary season tickets for all those inconvenienced for next season with a guarantee it won't happen again!

Look Lanzo you probably know as much as me with the current problems on the Board. I will not defend the method used by the commercial team they could and should have handled it better. I would have grumbled if it had happened to me but knowing what lies ahead
this season with regard to our finances Leeds are a
pain I have to put up with. I am concerned at what
might happen at the end of the season when it comes
to writing off the clubs loses.

I agree with many of you that it was a decision that had to be taken on commercial grounds - we need all the money we can get. However it seems to have been handled by five year-olds. Obviously every season ticket holder should have been offered something upfront - maybe after this chat discussion which I hope someone in management follows, they will get something.

Errr didn't we do something similar with the West Brom game season before last when they got promoted?

Sorry Donny lass I replied to you on the wrong thread. I think they did, but I also think they must have gone about it in the proper way or we would have had this discussion before. The club does need to consider the supporters more in these decisions. It's not rocket science it's just common courtesy.

"Season ticket: Terms and Conditions #13

"Persons who purchase season tickets in block 2 (ESB) in the East Stand, should...note that their seats may not be available on an ad-hoc basis, and that they may be moved to an alternative area."

Sounds like they've been planning for something like this tbh. I'm not particularly enthralled by the prospects of 2000 extra Leeds fans especially if any are like the Leeds "fans" I work with and only see them play live when they play Rovers

But would there be all this fuss if this had happened at any other match (apart from the people being moved of course)

posted on 16/9/11

Yeah there would. You ask first and then act. Did the people in them seats get told that they could be moved at any time, I doubt it and tbh a small clause hidden in terms nobody reads doesn't suffice, verbal notification upon purchase and the option at that time to pick your alternate seats should you be moved.

Maybe it proves we should all read small print

posted on 16/9/11

Maybe, but courtesy and making aware at the time of purchase cost nothing. In a time of financial hardship for fans and on pitch struggles the club needs to look after it's season ticket holders more than ever or risk another massive drop in sales. It all boils down to yet another example of lack of transparency and it's high time honesty returned to being the king around the club. People may not always like the truth but they will always appreciate the honesty if it.
