Can’t Ndidi play after missing the midweek game?
I’d play Okazaki for this one and take him off after 60. However I think we’ll have Gray and Albrigton in a front 4.
Good news, I didn’t realise that.
Have a feeling he may sacrifice Albrighton for Gray Mahrez Okazaki and Vardy. I wonder if Fuchs will also be considered to give Chilwell a rest and sure up the defence a little with some experience between two attacking wingers.
You guys would be silly not to play the likes of Okazaki, gray, mahrez etc. Pace and no time on the ball we can't deal with. I expect a very tight game which could go either way, I do expect a reaction also from our team. If you lot see Darmian on the teamsheet then you have to attack him. Valencia is out for us and I think he's a big miss
Hopefully Utd have got over the jet lag!
Well as an Engineer I prefer to "shore up" rather than "sure up".
I really think that Puel will pick from those he tried to rest in midweek, but retain the likes of Maguire and Iborra.
I think he'll go with: Schmeichel, Simpson, Maguire, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, N'Didi, Iborra, Gray, Albrighton and Vardy. Okazaki you'd want as a starter in this game, but I really can't see it happening after the cup game.
If we play an attacking line up, we need to defend from the front and put them under pressure.
I think Oki will get dropped which will be a mistake and keep Vardy, Albrighton Gray and Mahrez in the team.
If Chilwell could find that decent last ball I like him in front of Fuchs, they seem to work well together, Albrighton in front of Simpson shores up the right side as well.
Id drop grey for oki
And at 60 minutes ish
And if losing
Grey and chilwell on
Simpson and Albrighton off
3-5-2 / 3-2-1-4
Ozi won't be dropped he might not have enough fuel in the tank for god sake. I rather have him properly fit for Watford than try and get 60 minutes out of him today. I predict he will no even make the bench...there thats going to be wrong.
I joby make sure the ship has enough shoring timber
It is probably between Okazaki and Albrighton if we don’t play 442. If we do opt for Gray and Mahrez I’m hoping Fuchs and Simpson are told to sit a bit deeper instead of the more advanced positions Puel is hoping for in general from the fullbacks; particularly if we opt for Okazaki over Albrighton
I can't see Okazaki starting. Which probably means he will.
I think Joby's got the selection.
I think Puel will keep with the rotations:
Schmeichal
Simpson
Morgan
Maguire (looks like he could have played another 90)
Chilwell (played fewer minutes mid week and think was subbed with that in mind)
Ndidi
Iborra (his intelligient running likely means he has more in the tank than king)
Gray
Mahrez
Albrighton (subbed early for Mahrez despite looking one of the best players for the first half mid week, think an eye on this game)
Vardy
Playing 4-2-3-1 with Mahrez in behind Vardy. I think Okazaki and Fuchs will both be rested after playing for so long mid week. Chilwells pace will help against Man Us wide attackers.
The only other surprise I could see is Maguire in midfield...
