Bluebellend, you wish i was a current, I'd show you how to support a team properly!

Atletico didn't need to even get out of 1st gear tonightr. And we're talking about a team who hadn't scored this season... until the mighty 'Tic showed up.

Ken...... They did not play to their ability!!!!
They make errors , and that is the point of my OP... We make those same errors against teams in the SPL !
So you get an education ......t*t

What are you talking about pismael? Atletico have scored 10 goals this season.

posted on 15/9/11

the first goal was a total joke as a simple rule of football is to block the runners.
for some reason we alowad their best player a free header.
the second goal happened as we were chasing the game
all i am saying is look at the game as a whole
at no point were we under the kind of pressure people on here told us we would be under.
for the games at celtic park this gives me some real hope
this is a hard group but i believe we can beat them at home

quebec , just because you can't debate a point you don't have to revert to calling people supporters of the other hall of Glasgow .......get a grip please !

How did Atletico get through 2 qualifying rounds and into groups and not score a goal?

Rangers + Their fans + numbers = ?

I think most Bhoys and Bears, and SPL fans, realise the teams cannot compete at this level and this makes us angry.I was down after Rangers Euro flop, again.
We make the best of what we have, and that is why Walter played "anti-football".Perhaps Celtic need to focus more on defence in Europe, but many fans do not want this style or tactic,as it is not the Celtic attacking way.
Likewise,Rangers need to go at teams more in Europe as we had Moribor on the ropes, first half away.
When you lose against Athletico away there is no shame, and you did not disgrace yourselves.
The reality is we were once giants,or at least contenders and now we face hard times and rebuilding.
Do not worry too much about things you can do nothing about folks, like marking Falcao from corners,or preventing late Moribor back heels.

Keep the heads up bhoys and bears.Am turning into a social worker here.

Roll on Sunday where we both compete on an even level.

I was wondering that myself. Must be magic. The 10 goals they scored in qualifing don't count.

Debate a point Davieboy?
You say 1/2 the team were useless.
What's to debate?

Bluebells, on your conciliatory note I will bid you all g'night.

He's like a wee boy shouting "look at me, look at me."

Best to ignore the ignorant.

posted on 15/9/11

yes we do make those same mistakes a lot, so wft are you on here moaning about tonight. Did you expect our back line to morph into early 90s milan. what did you think would happen ya mug?

posted on 15/9/11

Ishy, was that a La Liga game tonight?

Aye bit, aye bit.........

lets forget the scoreline and look at the performance as a whole. after braga , utrecht and sion away the performance tonight was a positive. we lost a stupid early goal but gave as good as we got for 86 minutes.
after all the talk of how we we would lose 4 5 nil lets wait until the group plays out

bluebell

bring it on

as for the comments that celtic were poor,c'mon,we played some good stuff at times and for parts of the second half,ki,kayal, ledley were in control of midfield,we just lacked a wee bit intelligence in the final third, we were up against a top team(winners of the comp 2 year ago)away from home ffs, lets have a little perspective here, many of our players are new to european fitbaw, are still young and will improve, what the hell were you expecting,we made a good account of ourselves and will go into sunday with confidence

Better than your "pointy end and blunt end"

So Ishmael, how did Atletico get into groups without scoring?

I bet you wish Ally could figure that 1 out.

posted on 15/9/11

quebec are you stupid ? If you disagree with my opinion of certain players performances then have an opinion ! Are you one of our supporters who can't give criticism ? Do you just accept poor individual performances ? Well I don't !!! I want better, and I'm sure the players know they could do better !

posted on 15/9/11

Oh sorry, your right I'm stupid. What do you think the score would have been if all the players on the park played up to their potential?

posted on 15/9/11

"pointy end and blunt end" That was to make it easy for YOU, ya trumpet Remember... YOU are the clown ("I work on boats" I had to explain what end they fly the Union flag.

"So Ishmael, how did Atletico get into groups without scoring?"

In their LEAGUE. See above.

We have won 1 game away in 30. We lost 3-0 to Braga, 4-0 to Utrecht and 3-1 to Sion. On paper this was a hammering.

I don't feel to bad about a 2-0 defeat. I think we are going in the right direction.
