I’ve been corrected when making the same comment on another forum. Apparently it was to slow an extra 1000 Bristol City fans to attend what was actually a sell-out.
The effect would have been the same though; 2500 can’t sing as loud as 3500 ...........

Doesn't really add up as Wolves are obviously a bigger 'pull' the Man U anyway, this thread is the prelude to the wonderful match thread that will be available to all (in case you lot haven't heard)

Relax Halfy, I've already plugged the match thread

Fans will excuse a lack of ability. They won't excuse a lack of effort, in my opinion.

I agree with all of that Bute but although Cavaleiro maybe was only worth 4/10 on Tuesday it certainly wasn't through lack of trying, his problem was he tried too hard. We have to remember that he is still young and although an undoubted talent he still has times when his decision making is poor. He has been our most dangerous forward in the last few games but Millwall was just not his day
.............................

agree.
he can be brilliant or crap but one thing he isn't is a non-tryer.
i'd hate to be a defender against him because you never know which cav it is, the brilliant or the crap, so you can never relax

Bute's new agenda

posted on 28/12/17

Probably is Bute's new agenda. No player will go out and not play to his best on the day. The trouble is, players cannot always be on top form and a coach will not know that when selecting his starting eleven.

I can see you've played sport at a good level Wolfie, perhaps that's Bute's problem ?

Bute's new agenda

The only time I've mentioned it. It would apply to any player with such a low rating - which is why I didn't name names. I do believe that Cavaliero is generally a better player than he showed on Saturday, but we have seen in past seasons how some players can give up once they're no longer interested, or angling for a move. Hopefully that won't be the case here - and I'm sure it won't. Nuno wouldn't put up with it.

No way in this world was Jota less effective than Cavaleiro at Millwall. Jota brought two saves out of their keeper and made a number of runs from midfield to their area. Apart from lose the ball, Cavaleiro did nothing and Spiers giving him 4 was generous. Best thing Cav did was lie on the floor to give Costa a foil to set up the equaliser. Even if he hadn’t been injured he was a certainty to be replaced at half time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not his biggest fan are you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing of the sort. Cavaleiro as given 8 out of 10 performances this season and I have praised him accordingly. But when a player gives a 4 out of 10 performance (and for Cav at Millwall I think 4 is generous) I will criticise.

I said in the summer that unless Cavaleiro
improved both his performance and work rate I couldn't see him getting in the team regularly. As it happens I think his performances have often been better than last season and his work rate has improved enormously. But I still hold the same view - if all our players were fit he wouldn't be in the starting 11 for me, and I suspect the vast majority of Wolves supporters share that view

Cavaleiro has been much better this season than last, but that wasn't difficult as most of last season he was poor.
This season he has played well on occasions, brilliantly on others but has still been crapp from time to time. He is a frustrating player as he is very inconsistent. Compare him with any of our other regular players who have generally been 7/8 out of 10 whereas Cav can be anything between 4 and 8 out of 10 on any given day.
If Costa were fully fit and anywhere near his best from last season, he would start ahead of Cav for me, but as I've read earlier, what an option a fully-firing Cavaleiro would be coming off the bench against a tiring defence!

Been saying for a long time, Cav will improve, as will Eno, but the best starting front 3 for me at the moment is Jota, Bona and Costa . . .

if only because they all end in "a"

Palace have suddenly decided to start playing. Good game on now.

Can't believe that Speroni is a better keeper than Hennessey

He's made a couple of decent saves. Game's over now pretty well.

The three musketeers all ended in an 's' but our 'a' team are an even stronger trio

Maybe that's why Sako, Dicko and Afobe turned out to be not quite

posted on 28/12/17

Interesting to see Sako in his brief cameo at the end. Had a scoring chance too.

Sako has evidently been impressing in his sub appearances since Hodgson has been there

I think he has to be very careful how he words that, which is why no one has commented.

Think people are too precious, he has posted a link to the said article reporting the news, nobody is gonna get sued on a bleedin' forum for posting something like that.

posted on 28/12/17

You found it via the link? I saw nothing other that general Portuguese news. There is a certain decorum which is expected when posting an accusation that is unsubstantiated. Usually it is covered by using the word "allegedly". That's basic good practice.

Oh its terrible Halfy, a brutal attack by Perton

Comes to something when you have to be careful just posting a link to a story, the modern world through some folks eyes is a miserable place.
