People say Moreno is better in attack but I don't think so. He looks good to the eye but does he really ever contribute anything significant?
He didn't play last season, so go look at his stats from the season before.
Highest chances creating fullback in the league that year (again, his last full season which is why I'm suggesting it) would suggest that he's a decent attacker.
Besides which, anyone with pace is great on the counter, and Moreno has bags of it. He's been a lot better this season, Robertson has been good competition for him, however, as I said yesterday, had Moreno lost mahrez for the Leicester goal, and failed with so so many attacking chances (Robertson literally ran straight in to a defender at one point, with only him to beat) he would be raked across the coals..
People would be apocalyptic if Alberto had put in that performance yesterday, because there is an oddly unfair hatred of him, whereas Robertson gets praise for a largely poor performance (with some good moments) purely because he's not Moreno (which illustrates how bizarre the hatred has become)
"purely because he's not Moreno"
it is bizarre hatred at this point

OK but then you'd have to look at what criteria is it you are using to determine what qualifies as a chance, what kind of chances he's created, how many were converted into goals etc. And that was my question, does he really contribute anything tangible in attack that matches his reputation as such an attacking full back.
Wouldn't be surprised if others have been more effective than him while creating less chances. He's also not the best defender around if you know what I mean. Not terrible but he's been here a while, hasn't been good enough IMO, and hasn't improved enough either.
I also don't think he gets unfair treatment. He's been here for years. More than enough time for a fan to rationally expect him to be at the top his game. Not enough improvement IMO. I'd give him another 18 months to be honest to see if he hits the levels we aspire for him.
Look at Robertson, just came in, certainly hasn't been worse than the Moreno we know IMO and he's still taking stick from some quarters. Moreno been here for years and has a mistake in him every number of games so obviously people will have a go.
People weren't apocalyptic about Moreno's errors in his first days, it's when he's been around a season or two and it hasn't stopped that people go berserk. For Robertson, he's still in that early stage.
Same goes with Mig for me. We know he has mistakes in him and I doubt he can reduce them to a level which allows us to challenge for top honours. Karius has looked funny so far but still, let's see what he has in his locker because keeper situation needs a solution and Mig has proven to not be it IMO. That way, by summer well know what to do with both of them.
You are setting unrealistic expectations of proving his attacking quality, chances created means a pass leading to a shot at goal, it doesn't matter who that pass is to, he has successfully played a final ball, the most defensive fullback in the world could pass once to aguero who scores, would that make him better than Moreno cutting open a defence 10 times only for the chance to fall to a striker who misses them all?
A forward not doing his job is hardly a fair stick to measure Alberto by.
And it's absolutely unfair treatment to praise one fullback for what another one would get abuse for..
Moreno is 25 with 188 career appearances
Robertson is 23 with 179 career appearances
That's not the same as giving Gomez (20, 42 appearances) and TAA (19, 14 appearances) a free ride at fullback.
Everyone talks about trusting klopps with transfers, players, tactics etc, except when it come to the fact he favors Moreno over Robertson at full back.
Just last year Moreno got torn apart for our fan base for us conceding a goal against arsenal, when the real error was Lallana losing the ball with a stupid pirouette while we countered, Moreno is meant to join the counter, and was doing so, but ended up receiving death threats because Lallana failed with a ridiculous bit of skill on the halfway line.
That's a bizarre, unnecessary and unfair hatred. And I'll say it again, I don't think Robertson was terrible yesterday, but he wasn't good, and I'd that had been Moreno people here would be going ballistic rather than jizzing over the performance.
I feel like I don't think Moreno can be said to be a player that cuts defences open and most times whoever he plays the pass to has to shoot because of lack of options.
Also, regardless of age, a new player will get cut more slack.
Lallana losing the ball is to be expected, considering the type of player he is and it's the sort of thing you need to be aware of to be a top defender. Attacking players try things and lose the ball often. I don't see how a goal can be blamed on an attacking player attempting a skill move halfway up the pitch with nearly the whole team behind him.
Moreno messes up but I agree he gets ripped apart more than his fair share. He's one of our great liabilities though.
