Don't be silly. He was scissor-tackled by two defenders.
Referees have been shockingly inconsistent this season.

VAR can't come soon enough. In fact the sooner we phase out a singular ref altogether the better

I didn't think you were poor today.
You struggled to break down a well-martialled and careful defence, and at times, particularly first half, struggled to beat the press.
But credit to West Brom; they were very good today. Well prepared, tidy, disciplined and very decent on the ball. They didn't look at all like a bottom three side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were shiiiit and deserved nothing
Not the priiiick refs position to make that decision tho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition.
They played well and made things difficult for you today.
Whinger moaning about the schedule
Yes WBA did well. We did not

I don't have many complaints about the ref's decision, I have seen them given. If we changed our play to a more productive style and smash thru sheet defences we would make the ref's decisions irrelevant. Stop moaning.

"The refs in the Premier League, for all the stick they get, are just about the best in the world"
Yeah ok mate. Just like the premiership is the best league in the world
Look you were not moaning when he handed you a favour on your way to breaking the deadlock in the NLD..

I somewhat get this where he's coming from. It's not to say the refs in the PL are great. Just decent out of a very bad bunch. Refs in Spain are horrendous. Borderline crooked.
I personally think Italian refs are the best.
Sours all come out of the woodwork all of a sudden.
Even Pardew said it wasn’t a pen π

karma is a b#tch, west brom should of had a pen at the emirates this season
it's easier to corrupt the refs than the players
yes, credit to west brom because they didn't just defend deep. ive seen man utd defend deeper. but arsenal despite many fans saying they weren't good enough were good enough to win but the ref blew it.

We should have had three that day. One before even WBAs claim.
AArsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, speaking to Sky Sports: “First I got a yellow card for saying this is not a penalty.
“Every time we meet with refs prior to season and it comes to the point about when the player is close to the ball and has no chance to react it is never a penalty
“I asked the referee why he changes this decision
“I was not rude, I just asked the question and it disappoints me even more that he said nothing when I asked him
“I’m disappointed by the penalty situation and I expect when I walk to the ref with respect and ask a question I would like if he answers in a normal way, not (for him to) give me a yellow card and say nothing.”
