Yes.
A lot tidier Wethers, The very same Architect I believe,
(A Canadian).
I'd go as far as to suggest that we might see an appearance from HEFELE How interesting would that be along side Terry King Kongolo.
Literally. Who knows who'll play ? Wagner sure to make multiple changes.
That aside, I hope we go at this in a serious manner,
I for One really enjoy the knock out cup comps, And as mentioned, A chance to get a good win under our belt, lift the spirits & kick on from there. .
Now onto CRICKET
just joking.
Green in goal or Coleman ! I'd go with Coleman, He is the No2 as they say. He'd appreciate playing in front of a crowd for a change.
I think the 'travellers' will all be there, The regulars, It's not far, & maybe a healthy bunch of others who wouldn't normally be able to get the tickets for the away games in the Prem.
Bolton would have to be disappointed with their efforts so far this season, despite that recent win v a United side previously doing quite well.
Even with a 'Cup squad eleven' as in 'Watered darn', I'd like to think we'll be too strong for 'em.
But that's the beauty of the Cup, The lower teams sometimes cause quite big upsets.
I was at that '76 tie you mentioned in the thread .
Our plunge darn the leagues was under way,
But I distinctly remember it was one of the biggest crowds with an atmosphere to go with it, since we'd dropped out of "League Division 1" in '72. And........
Disappointment to go with it, Losing at home in front of a decent crowd yet again....
"Those were the days my friend"
(UTG will remember this One too ,ok>
I'll be slightly more optimistic & predict a 3-0 win
Hef' from a corner....
Ince,
Mounie.
Darn's Viz 'Top Tip' for the Giant killing act of round 3 !
Fleetwood to triumph over Leicester
i was 13 months old in Jan 76 & remember sweet FA !
Darn................ there is an Ashes thread on the cricket section, I've just added a comment...
We’ve got tickets for this game and fully expect Wagner to put out a reserve side in order to give some of our regulars a rest. And rightly so in my opinion. Saying that I would like us to progress but have to admit any future draws won’t hold the same anticipation now we’re playing the top teams week in week out.
I agree this game will be harder than it looks on paper, but my prediction is 2-1 to us with Hefele and Mounie the scorers 😊
"Remember Sweet FA"
They were dark times, you didn't miss much,
Just as a nostalgic recollection .
The Trotters mob, Came in quite some numbers that day and occupied en-mass the East terrace right upto the Cowshed. They were like the home side on the day. Quite intimidating.
Maybe hard for you to appreciate, But this was the days before BUXTON, And the revival.
As far as I'm concerned, that era was when the 'Terrace' came alive & 6 or 7 thousand attending sounded like the sometimes thirty odd thou that attended during the 1st division Greaves years.
(Being 1980 onwards )
And now,
Back to the Cricket
(I've said my bit below your comment on that thread )
I agree with you darn, I pretty much said the same... Glad Spurs got that equaliser...
Phew !
Yeah. I was unaware that fixture was on going .
Close call.
What's with all this 'tirdness' & fixture congestion lately ?
(I know Me & LV called for Mooy to be given a 'rest' recently, But that was a totally different context)
They keep talking about needing a rest, tired legs, Rotation etc etc.... The fixtures have always been this way, More so when the league had 22 sides taking part. The pitches used to be water soaked mud too for much of the season.. Night games ceased after October back in the 80's. There were no Winter mid week evening games played.
Mooy take a bow ! Up to now, he's the only one who has mentioned, It's not an excuse, and that It's the same for EVERY team... It's not like sides we play have had a rest & advantage over us .
(& not just Town players, They are all at it moaning & groaning ).
One interesting 'stat' for comparison from the Cricket yesterday re- Footballers & effort ! You still with us LV
Starc had bowled a limited amount by his usual standards yesterday. but had covered 17km.
running in at around 28kph as an average.
The outfielders were getting through similar figures,
OK. I'll concede they get an innings 'rest'... But it's 5 days on the 'Trott-ers' (keeping it thread worthy )
When the Champions league televised games show those 'stats' of effort put in, the average is usually around the 9km mark, in 90 minutes. Come on guys, Most of us walk that distance with ease in an hour & a half without the break in between.
lets keep it real.
Tired !
Five moaning Town players from me!
I’m getting bad vibes from HTFC, they don’t seem bothered for this encounter. Why are the players whinging about fatigue? They’ve played a lot less matches this season and do so anyhow in the EPL! Set of over paid under worked numpties!
I’m going all out for a 3-0 win to Town. Even with some players being rested, bless ‘em, the lads who play should be too strong for Bolton.
2-0 defeat, couldn't care less about the game tbh.
I,m with hydy 0-2 defeat...i cudni care less for the fa cup either...i wanna be watching Premier league footie on a saturday not pointless fa cup ties then getting re arranged prem fixtures in the midweek!....Survival is what we need to be putting ALL our efforts into
Next seasons season ticket prices announced 249 quid robbin barstuds
Hardly a rip off Waltz, that’s just over £13 per Premier League match, that’s a bargain!
I think the clue was in the "" LV
Walt will have his paid up before most
As would I were I there.
Time to shift the 'visitors' into the lower tier end & turn the Cowshed over to the home fans & get that 'rail seating' installed.
(Not that it'll happen,)
Where was the £249 placement ! General admission or a specific section ? For example, Is the Cowshed cheaper ?
Same price allround the ground darn
Do we need the rail seating?....Everyone stands up in the ss now anyroad home and away fans and we all stand up at away games in the prem now with no problems whatsoever....nothing official i know but standing is deffo back in the premier league
Shame we have to cobble together the brass by 1st of March though, we usually have until May to sort it... I know, I know you are all rich barstewards...apart from me & hydy
Remember the cup last season, we got Man City... I'd like a 4th round day playing L**ds are Sadford...
Its not looking good for a live match stream today folks!
Prediction change 2-0 Town win
Its live on bbc radio L💩💩ds online
I'm honestly not bothered one bit. I'm travelling back to Yorkshire today, no doubt I'll have a sh¡t load of jobs waiting for me.
Wagbo says we can't win the Cup, it's incredible that we're in the Premier league on so many points etcetera etc. Change your record fella, getting fed up of hearing it.
I’ve just listened to him saying those things on Sky Sports News but to my mind he was saying that these things are seen as impossible but can be done. He used the example of how it was seen as impossible that we would ever be able to win promotion but we did. Just my opinion obviously as none of us know what meaning is actually behind his words.
Setting off soon and hoping to see the new guy play.
Your head is on the block UTG
Comprehensive match report expected, along with an in depth analysis of King Kongolo,
It probably isn't open during the winter months, But I've had many a ride out to Rivington Barn just up the hill from the Reebok, They used to do cracking Sunday dinners for pennies ,
Just thought I'd mention it
Wagner !
Tells us he isn't concerned about our lack of ability to score goals away from home,
Now we can't win the Cup !
last season he was very enthusiastic about 'Cup comps' !?
Please explain Mr Wagner, I'm starting to get very confused lately
Need 4 points from West aaaammm and Stoke, before the Liverpool and Man U games... This will be a close thing, loads of teams within 4, 5 points of each other, even Watford in 10th are in it... Wagbo can't lose can he, stay up he's a miracle worker ( why? We are as big as half a dozen in the league), relegation and he's still a miracle worker for getting little old Huddersfield into the top flight, like Hydy I'm very tired of hearing about punching above our weight, little Huddersfield... Let it go...
Hey Darn do you have the Periscope app?
I reckon I’d be able to feed you the Radio Leeds commentary. It depends if I could stream it to you and watch the match at the same time on my Mac.
