Can Solo, problem is being January transfer window who is really around top top class that you can buy?
No team wants to sell there best players and if they do you have to pay even more than you probably would in the summer.
So as I said 15 mil is not a big big gamble in the context of things.
In answer to you Stretty, you have your opinion, could be wrong could be right. but being a Man U fan and some of your past history of signing players eg Fellani
who I believe you paid around 24 million for and amazingly from everton can you say for certain he is that poor a player, have you followed he's career, have you watched Barclay week in week out?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They mugged us off as well, doesn't alter the fact.

Stretty I do not think you have got what I meant.
You have not followed Barclays career have you, week in week out over say 3 or 4 seasons, so how can you make that statement that hes poor and we have been ripped off.
Now to emphasise I mentioned your signings and in particular Fellani but now think about it, I have not watched or followed Fellani career week in and week out, so how can I make that statement he is bad, .
At the end of the day we spend 15 mil on a 23/24 year old, that we know does have talent , that cannot be disputed, that is good money in todays market.

Stretty is a mongoloid who never sees the good in anything unless it’s to make even more ridiculous claims like Sterling being better than Pires ever was

He speaks for nobody other than the freaks and geeks in society

As for Barkley, I like the guy. Would have liked him ya United for all the reasons Robbing has said. Dunno how it will go at Chelsea but if he can stay fit he might just prove some people wrong

He needs a step up in consistency, that can be imporoved in game management and will come with experience.

Freeks and geeks 😂 this how we all know you got your head rammed down the bog.

2 more goals for sterling and he has already had a better seaeon than pires best ever.

I don’t rate Barkley. He loses the ball far too often for me and doesn’t stamp his authority on games. People talk highly about him but, potentially, how high is his ceiling ? Not very in my opinion.

I Cant see him getting much of a look in at Chelsea consistently ,unless someone were to leave, and this will obviously play a big part on whether Barkley is considered for a WC place, which unless something miraculous happens ,is very unlikely.

So is Barkley accepting that it is likely he wont be going to the WC baring injuries to other personal ?

I just find Chelsea’s transfer moves, in all honesty, rather odd at times and that's dating all the way back to Sidwell.

I must admit though Chelsea do remind me somewhat of the big Italian teams who just constantly hoover up players in their own League to beef up their player squad numbers, predominately Juve who‘ve always had a strong history in this. Whether that is a Conte factor is debatable.

These aren’t necessarily great players either, compared to a club like Bayern who ,more often than not, do sign the best players in the Bundesliga.

Just players who can come in now and again and do a pragmatic job and I think ,mainly, that is what Barkley will offer.

Chelsea just looking to get their amount of English player contingent up.

Ross is by no means a poor player, he's just a decent player who shows some flashes of brilliance at times, doubt he'll ever reach the top grade, will probably be a Sidwell MkII

Will be a loss but not a great loss, bye bye Ross and mind you don't get injured by the closing door on the way out!

Just saw contes press conference and sounds like the club are signing Barkley and he doesn’t seem that keen on him

Conte wasn’t even able to answer where Barkley would fit into his side and just said the club sees it as good business because of his contract situation

----------------------------------------------------------------------
How could he say when he would be fit?

Never really got the hype around him.

Would struggle to be worse than Bakayoko though

Chelsea
30m on Drinkwater
40m on Bakayoko
15m on Barkley.

Should have just bought someone good like Pogba
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we did Bakayoko

I'd like to see Barkley make it for the sake of England, but I am not sure that he will. I have a Scouse mate who knows one of the coaches at Everton. He reckons that the coach told him that Barkley is too thick to ever be a top talent. He is blessed with the natural ability, but isn't intelligent enough. Apparently you can only give him one instruction at a time - any more and he gets confused. Can a player like that ever be a top player in modern day football?

Deal done.

Good luck to him. Hope he is more like Stones than Rodwell

He crapped on us. I don't begrudge him moving to Chelsea, if he plays he has a greater chance of winning something, but turning down the move in the summer meant we lost a large chunk of change. That's no way to treat your boyhood club.

Naa, I had an idea something fishy was going on when he went for the medical then had a change of mind. I do think leaving our City was a big factor.
