1 - He isn't cheap
2 - He is a leader
3 - He is 30.
4 - This is a Daily Star story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a world where CBs are sold for £75 million and full backs for £50 million, the reported £21 WBA have quoted is cheap.
Leading a crap Albion side does not make him Arsenal quality.
It’s even worse he is 30
It’s been reported now on SSN- “Arsenal revive Evans interest”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would it make you feel better if we offered £50m for him?

Evans is on the wane. This would be a terrible signing, if true. CB is a position we're short in and it needs long-term quality, not stopgaps that Wenger will be tempted to use as regular starters even when they're way past their shelf-life.

Mahrez going to pool. They will have mahrez, Mane and Salah as their wife options.

We will have Iwobi and Welbeck

And we will have Julian Draxler, Nabil Fekir, Malcolm, Cristian Pavon, Thomas Lemar...

Or do we only believe rumours that we can put a negative spin on?

My only problem with Evans is his age. Far as I'm concerned, he's a solid defender and in a standard back 4, I'd pair him with Kos rather than the erratic Mustafi or our crap English lads.

Well Man City are interested in Evans so I don't think he can be that bad now!

Problem is, city looking at him was 4th choice CB and we looking at him at first or second choice 😝

I don't understand why we are not in for mahrez? We lack players of quality out wide and with Ox gone and Walcott also going we just can't leave those positions to Iwobi and welbeck
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hed rather see top players like Mahrez join our rivals.

Mahrez is a very inconsistent and does not track back, there is a reason he was sat around all last summer waiting for an offer that never came.

Pretty good 3rd choice for us if you ask me.

If City are interested might as well forget it

He’d be a better option than chambers and holding. But he wouldn’t exactly solve many of the problems with this team

Let's be honest he will not be signed to be a backup. Per is finished and Kos is not too far behind him.

Chambers and Holding are not ready IMO and may never be.

That leaves is with just Mustafi as cb and he's just an OK defender and that's on a good day.

We are woefully short of top class cb.

Why aren't we in for players like Kouliaby/Manolas/VVD hell let's try and take Alderwerald from spurs. Spurs signed a gem in Sanchez why didn't we even look at him?

We are too cheap for players of that quality; true Wenger is a clog on our wheel but I reckon the owner is a bigger impediment in terms of meaningful investment in the squad.

We won’t spend more than about 30m without selling someone. We never do. Even when we spend big, it’s always balanced out by sales. We’ve hardly got anyone who could generate funds now as most of the players who are surplus to requirements are pretty awful, then with Ozil and Sanchez we won’t get that much. So the club will just look for cheap options to bolster the squad. They won’t get involved with any of the ridiculous fees or bidding wars. Our only hope of getting a more quality player is if a team has to sell to buy and a player is basically offered to us on a plate. Like Sanchez and Ozil

Absolute lies.

When we signed Xhaka and Mustafi we only sold two youth players.

When we signed Alexis we had a net spend of £65m - only selling deadwood Vermaelen (£15m) and getting a £8.8m bonus for not re-signing Vela.

When we signed Ozil we only made money on Gervinho and Mannone - £10m.

He's better than all your CB's. What's the issue?

posted on 7/1/18

Even if the rumour is true...I bet he'd rather take his chances staying at West Brom

posted on 7/1/18

I'm sure people would now be biting their hands off to take him now! he can't do any worse then our current defence.
