Star Wars, Star Trek, some of the individual films aren't too bad but they all lack something which the others have.
Not enough grit, story line or something.

They're all Holloywood "safe" - not a 15 or 18 certificate anywhere

This. They do lack something, at least the original Star Wars weren’t too predictable. A marvel of filmmaking, but not really up there for me.

Does Event Horizon count then? And what about Existenz?

Event horizon was a very good film!

But it wasn’t for everyone

Aliens, T2, Predator,Fifth Element, Mad Max, Total Recall, The Thing, Jurassic Park, Avatar

Its too broad a spectrum to just limit your pick.

theres loadsa films to choose from tho.. Even ones like ET, Close Ecounters.

I mean Arnie aint known specifically for sci fi films.

Yet you have Terminator films, Predator, Totall Recall, Running Man all classics all sci fi. It has to be broken down further

the first matrix film was v.good.

Watched that at the cinema a few months ago. Great film, but ropey acting.

thought serenity was brilliant, never heard of it until it came out in the cinema, then afterwards found about the tv series
