It was like it was only yesterday...
Didn't know that Bute, interesting. Fair play to the council for making such a good job of the renovation, it was in a shocking state for such a long time.
I watched a video on yow tube last night made by some geezer with a video camera wandering around the ground just before the early 90s re build. They had a wander round the derelict north bank and past the hotel at its worst. It's not Spielberg but it's worth a watch:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=grmAzF1vBXo
No idea if that will work!
Amazing video Goldi and scary to think how many stadiums back then were not in much better condition and fully operational, i bet DJ and a few others have some genuine horror stories.
...you can't beat a good MH story from the 70's, we kind of take them for granted here on JA606 !
Lovely !

Amazing video. Thanks for finding thst.
What a mess the place was. The lack of sound makes the eeriness more acute. Funny to see that guy with the Manders shirt. That was the same shirt I wore to the Swansea game last week!
Tino will be interested to see the red seats. Bizarre that the new John Ireland stand was so far back from the pitch.

I could tell some tales, Halfy! Some of the players had gold WV Beetles with denim seats and used to park by the public bar door. Gerry O'Hara posted an old photo of them a few months back. I'll see if I can find it.
I remember when some local garage advertised gold beetles in the match program. Wouldn't buy German myself.

The old Waterloo road stand was so tight to the road they had to make the space to build a modern stand on that side, which of course SJH eventually did. There's a couple of great photos of the John Ireland being built behind the old Molineux street stand and another of the finished stand with one of the street lights still in situ but now inside the stadium. I'll try and find a link.
If anything the ground was worse after they built that new stand. So far away from the pitch it meant there was no atmosphere

Quality find that is, nice one
Donovan Wilson played the second half of Port Vale's match against Yeovil. He didn't score, and it ended a draw.
Just popped into the bar for a quick beer. Anyone care to join me?
Will Norris has made the Carabao Cup "Team of the Tournament".

A sad anniversary today, as we remember Dean Richards, who died in 2011. One of the greatest players I have seen at Wolves. Departed this world way too soon. Many will remember his wonderful football talents.
Okay. The bar is open again. Free jukebox tonight.
