I really like the show, but its really cheesy, coincidental and almost pretentious in parts.

It’s made it’s way likely into my top 3 of all time with this season. It’s masterfully done, the production and cinematography and just sheer nostalgia are brilliant

It's a fun watch, as Nick says, if you are an 80s kid. Basically the Goonies meets Nightmare on Elm Street (2 of my favourite movies as a <13 in the 80s).
But I wouldn't watch it again, all 4 series have been around 7-8.


Note, just found out pre... teen is banned. Assume that is from the Emma Watson thread days !

Agree with some of the comments on here about Stranger Things, the hopper story line and 11's were a bit meh however, I think this season provided the greatest scene of the series so far! The scene 'Max's favorite song' where she was trying to escape Vecna in her mind was just brilliant.

Thought I would recap my ratings across the 4 series;

ST series 1 - 9/10 (fun, nostalgic)
ST series 2 - 7.5/10 (still good)
ST series 3 - 6.5/10 (getting pretty samey now)
ST series 4 - 9/10 (back to its best and the scene mentioned above gets a 10 alone!)

Agree Del Boy, that scene is up there with some of the best scenes I’ve ever seen, I’m talking the shield, breaking bad and sopranos.

I would also bump up the middle seasons a mark.

The first season alone, is not the best tv series I’ve seen, but has imo the best 6 episodes of tv in a row. If that makes sense.

Agree about the 6 episodes...I think the thing that lets down ST's slightly is some of the side stories/characters but overall, very good.
