That didn't end well
Strange move managing a national team for him at this stage imo.
Someone else mentioned that Wales FA couldn't afford his insurance when having small friendlies. And it's not like top players such as Kane haven't pulled out for England.
Coleman wasn't a good character either. When he worked in Spain he was a mess. Went out for a booze up before the morning of his unveiling conference.
As much as the guy is a see you next Tuesday in his personal life, he was a good professional.
On what basis did Southgate get the England job? Same goes for Coleman to a certain extent.
National jobs in Britain have lost all their pedigree. They aren't big jobs and so big name managers don't want to manage them.
When Giggs fails miserably, however, he might stop being linked to numerous high profile jobs for no reason whatsoever. That's a win in my book.
Giggs landed on his feet.
The next qualifiers are the Euro's in which up to 3 teams can qualify from a group. Imo he will get them to qualify.
Still won't make him a good manager though.
Coleman looked good with Wales. He's not done well at club level and he's not been much better at Sunderland.
Seems to be going well for Giggs up to now and as an English fan I'm delighted for the one footed wonder.
