My absolute hero. So sad!
Dear me. What terrible news. He seemed to be such a nice fellow.
Very sad indeed.
One of our greatest ever players. Gutted he was before my time.
RIP
The club seem rather slow in reacting to the news?!
Sad to hear about Cyrille Regis. Had the pleasure of seeing him play and he was like no other forward I had seen before. Built like an Olympic sprinter with power pace and could do bullet headers and rocket like shots. Not many central defenders could handle a player like that. Kept his dignity in the face of taunts from knuckle dragging racists who wouldn't dare say anything to his face. RIP, Cyrille, gone too young.

a true black country great
Was really sad to hear about big Cyrille this morning, it never seems right that anyone should be taken so young but especially so when you remember the incredible athlete that this guy was. A true footballing legend across all of the west midlands.
Before my time unfortunately but embodies what made the club so special, as not just a part of 'that' team, but also blazing the trail in such a difficult climate. Only wish I had the chance to seem him play. RIP big man
Rams fan in peace
Big Cyril was an icon to all of society, not just football
A truly dignified man.
RIP
Remember watching MOTD back then when the three degrees were playing. My Dad was wiping way a tear or two during the game. I asked him why. "Because these three men are going to change football in England, for the better."
Too right. Loved watching all three play. But, Regis was
sublime. Powerful, and yet amazing touch. What a player. What a man. What a pioneer. Sadly, sadly missed. And again, another great one gone too young.
One of my Dad's and my heroes.
RIP Cyrille
I'm truly fortunate to have watched Cyrille play. Not just a footballer but an inspiration.
So young, so sad.
RIP.
Just wanted to add my condolences from a Gunner. So shocked - as Cyrille has gone too soon. I always remember collecting my Panini stickers from the late 70's early 80's and was thrilled to get both Cyrille Regis and Laurie Cunningham - in that classic blue and white wide stripe kit. Both trailblazers and were extremely talented footballers - thoughts with Cyrilles' family at this sad time.
^ Wow 16Bit, you just brought a massive smile to my face. I too was a Panini kid. And I swear, getting Cyrille and Laurie (and Brendon) was one brilliant day for me. Fantastic times. Amazing men all three.
Nice comments above. Gutting really that I never got to witness how good a team we had back then.

Ah yes Batty - the Holy Trinity. As someone of that generation I was fortunate enough to see at least Cyrille and Brendan live play for WBA. Great Days.
