Who ever comes in has to be able to play both left and right, all players should be able to kick with both feet.
If Anderson is not fit, I suspect Leacock will slot in there or Buxton when he's fit. I don't think NC is looking for any further cover in that position.
Leacock was looking very likely to go and Buxton I doubt would have the pace for a left back.
If you mean Leacock at left-back, no way, he couldn't even fill in at right-back where he was supposed to be more comfortable.
Definitely like to see some competition at left-back or to cover injury. DBRam made a good point, ideally a player who can cover a number of positions (which is why there was so much competition in Billy Jones).
It would be great to have someone who could cover all positions but in our squad we have a lot of player who could go right back or centre and verry little on the left side. Gareth Roberts isn't young and struggled to be fit for the end of the season so an extra man there could sure us up and give a bit of consistency to the back four then constant changes.
Smithe makes a good little shout to be fair, Spurr has left Wednesday so would be available on a free (slicks price) and would give roberts competition for a start (not difficult).
At the end of the day we need someone extra!
Unfortunately Billy Jones has attracted Premiership interest, a move seems less likely now.
I have not heard any names mentioned regarding a left back but in Tom Glicks money back interview it was a position he mentions as an area they are looking to strengthen.
Billy jones went to west brom last week
Id like Rhoys Wiggins at Bournemouth!
I agree with clarkey, after seeing him in the play offs i was quite impressed....good attacking full back, though i fear we may be stuck with roberts for another year
I thought Roberts improved towards the end of the season. But I agree that competition, or at least cover, is necessary this season, Brayford is still good at LB or CB but would rather have him playing his best at RB.
