Yep won't be surprised
Wenger target at that time was to sell a top player every season
As I remember Adabayor gave it large and thought he was better than RvP. Bit of a trouble maker I expect.
So yeah Wenger probably wanted him gone.

He was. We needed to sell one player a season to balance the books in those days. So he got a pay rise so why should he complain?
Yeah he was nothing special, we got a good deal for him.

This just shows that we, as fans, know very little so who are we to say he was giving it large or being a trouble-maker? We don't know if he was or if he was over-compensating to gain Wenger's approval.

OMG if you have this mind-set nobody should ever be allowed to say anything.
At the time there were a lot of comments coming from Adebayor and the Arsenal camp but you were probably still in your dads bag back then.

Comments from Adebayor? What did he say? He admitted to being a troublemaker?!
I'm just saying that it's easy to dismiss the player on the basis of the manager saying something and rumours but players have come out way after leaving and spoken about how they were just marginalised by Wenger... Pires being a classic example. I'm just waiting for Theo's story because for him to have played less than 90 minutes in 23 games smacks of there being some issue, even if he captained the team in the League Cup. A lot of us on this board have wondered why AW persists with Iwobi and Welbeck when Theo has offered more.
So I'm not suggesting Adebayor wasn't a problem. I'm saying there are two sides to a story and we've only heard one. If you're happy to blissfully believe everything you hear from Wenger, that's your business but I'm not.
**we've only hear one until now.
Well, Adebayor was probably the problem. Most of the teams he has played for wanted to get rid of him after a while.
Surely Arsenal have done it for the money but Monaco too were happy to sell him.
At City, he quickly fell out of favour and was loaned, first to Real Madrid, but his beloved Mourinho didn’t trigger the option to buy him. City then loand him out to Spurs who bought him after one season: only because City splashed the cash to allow the move.
After two years at WHL he was no longer flavour of the month. And so on.
You can't sell a player against his will - but GreedyBayor wasn't wanted and was told that - and with good reason because apart from his short purple patch (which never happened again) Lazybayor was $hit...
