Would be great to have our two best centre backs involved in the Liverpool game, would give us a good chance of claiming 3 points

Would be VERY VERY surprised to see Gallas come back, haven't seen or heard from him in months now, if we was going to play some part i would have thought the news would be out by now...

Hope King is fit enough to play, put Suarez back in his pocket

True RRP would be a tough game for Gallas to come back in, I wouldn't mind King and Kaboul tbh. Lets just hope King's fit enough

Rafael - King and Kaboul is most likely, watching Bassong last night just deepened my worries about him even further

Major plus point in the Wolves game was King getting 90 minutes, that sort of went under the radar

Yeah was great King lasting all 90 mins, & Bassong... If he plays Sunday I'm going to be worried.

If Bassong plays i will be watching the game in a giant diaper

Suarez...what a sore loser

I'd like Suarez to flop around the floor crying again. His a great player but when his in someone's pocket his like a little baby

Rafael -

1st class player, but a 1st class as well

Reminds me Mascherano, always moaning and flying around the Ref's ear

I may be wrong but when Arry was being interviewed before the match last night I thought he said that Gomes was back at the weekend, but the live feed went down. Anyone?

Blanch - I think Harry said Gomes WILL get games but Friedel is 1st Choice

North - Outnumbered 6 to 1 with Liverpool fans...BRAVE MAN

If VDV is fit he has to play, by far out most intelligent player and always does well in the "big" games

I'm not totally confident that giving the 1st choice GK position to a 40 year old is the best decision

I think arry said Gomes will start against Stoke in the Carling Cup, VDV has to play IMO I'm thinking HR might drop Defoe for VDV with Lennon RM.

Why not THudd ?? If he's the best man for the job, why not ? I think already, he's proved Hary was right to make the decision.

Thudd - Bringing in a 40 year old keeper wasn't the best idea in the first place!

What i would like to see (But will never happen)

......................Friedel.........................

...........BAE......Kaboul......King......Walker

..........Bale.....Parker......Modric

RRP - Brave or Stupid

Agree about VDV, just worried that he is not fully fit yet. But if both VDV and Lennon are available, give VDV 60 mins and Lennon 30? Or will he drop Defoe, after finally scoring and getting a little bit of confidence and form together maybe. Who knows!

And I thought Friedel had done really well so far and well worth his place above Gomes, 40 years old or not?

North - Somewhere in between brave and stupid, i wouldn't celebrate our win too much though

What i meant with Friedel is, he can only have a year or 2 left in him, and when that happens we will need to bring a new GK and disrupt the back line yet again, we should be working towards getting the GK position sorted for the next 5 or 6 years, not just to fill a gap for a few seasons

Im sure VDV will start, and as you say, can see Lennon coming on for the last 20 minutes or so, but you never know Harry might try something completely different

The risk, if that is the right word, with signing keepers of Friedel's age, is that when a keeper's age catches up with him, the decline is sudden and then rapid.

I can give examples like David Seaman, Peter Shilton and David James. All were top class keepers, and were still performing to a very high standard in the top levels of football. But all of them had rapid declines and within months, were letting in goals which only weeks earlier, they would have gobbled up. I know James is still playing, but he isn't half the keeper he was even 12 months ago.

Friedel is shwoing no signs yet, indeed he claims he is currently fitter than he's been for years, so at the moment Harry has made a good choice imo.

I watched our 2-1 win against them in the first game of the season a while back with the same guys when they were all talking about winning the title, rubbed it in good and proper!!
They tried to turn it back on me saying that the pool would still finish above us though, and having had a few beers and seeing us win I had a few bets with them that we would I have never let them forget it .
Thats why we better not lose on Sunday other wise I'm going to be in for a hard time!!

Agree that Friedel was a short term fix, but to be fair Gomes couldn't carry on keeping goal in the way that he was doing. Hopefully Gomes will pick his head up and get back into the team and learn how to be more consistent from Friedel

Spurcat - COMPLETELY forgot about David James...WOW

But we should be working on getting our defense settled, we have so many problems there, the GK situation should be the easiest one to sort out for the next 5 or 6 years

North - To be honest, if we lose, the Spurs board will be in meltdown with all the Pool fans coming over, might give it a miss for a few days
