But Man United are apparently paying Sanchez £450,000 a week so who are the real mugs! he will probably have another 2 years at a push being on good form. Under Mourinho he will be playing left back, I doubt Mourinho will get the best out of him, Sanchez will just enjoy the hefty pay cheque.

But we shouldn’t laugh too hard. This is Ed, he’s probably paying Sanchez a fortune...more than the likes of pogba, who’ll want a raise, and any potential big new signing will want similar. Ed’s history with transfers isn’t good reading.

To be fair as we all know it’s a shambles that arsenal have allowed the contract situation with Sánchez develop. Can’t really blame him for taking that huge last pay day at United though. We all know if he was going to win trophies he would have joined City.
Getting Mkhitaryan in return could work out to be okay for Arsenal, he’s obviously a class player, and one (like so many others) that suffered under Jose’s negative approach.
