...I'll tell you what happened. Wheras Warburton's defensive strategy resembled those plastic strip door curtains people hang to keep flies out, Karanka's was more like a double electrified chain fence. I say electrified because they delivered the kind of early shocks which got Worrall and Fox booked but certainly gave the Wonderbras forwards pause for thought. Defensive power and intense midfield pressing reduced the expensively assembled Wonderbras to angry, directionless rags. In the stands, arrogance was replaced by embarrassment. And this didn't just happen by accident. You could tell that the whole operation had been planned in meticulous detail. As Karanka said: “We just showed them on the training ground the movements that they have to do and the movement of the opposition.” I would suggest that this kind of preparation hasn't been seen at Forest for a long, long time.

Preparation, organisation, intensity and aggressive intent scuppered the Wonderbras - oh, and two goals, the first a Dowell speculator which veered drunkenly past Ruddy, the second a composed smash into the top of the net by Osborn. Even the celebrations were intense.

So Forest wrote their own script, though you'll only find it in the Forest archives. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, nothing untoward happened at Moulinex on the 20th of January 2018. Wolves probably won another football match. Any suggestion to the contrary is patently absurd

Biggest takeaway from that interview is that Dave needs to go back to school as the Republic of Ireland and indeed Doherty is/are not British.

As for what happened?

Karanka is a top manager and had the week to organize his side whilst we had the distraction of a cup replay and a few players beginning to look a little jaded and playing below par.

Forgive me if i don't start to panic after one league defeat in fourteen.

I wouldn’t panic either. The OP was just mulling over the lack of praise for Forest as C5 seemed to be suggesting that Wolves played badly rather than Forest playing well. It’s enough that the top four in the Prem get lauded by all and sundry and can do no wrong. Don’t want that kind of unconditional adulation seeping into the Championship, do we?

Wouldn't listen to any of the pundits, they have been trashing us all season.

You deserved the win as you played well regardless of how we played.

Strett has a point but it would be the understatement of the year so far to say that he's labored it !

Its the sort of lazy journalism and broadcasting we see all the time when the favourites slip up and it all doesn't go "according to the script"

Mind you in labeling the presenter as "some bint" and scattering the word Wonderbras erroneously all over the post, Strett clearly has more pressing issues to address

Stress and Pie have pet names for all of the other club’s in Forest’s league. Wonderbras isn’t that bad, although you didn’t appear to have a great deal upfront on Saturday...🥁

Actually the article is pretty much spot on.

Forest played very well.

By there own standards Wolves played poorly.

And the article was Quality Strett, get it, Quality Strett.

I'll get me coat . . .

It might have been on here, or maybe LTLF, but someone mentioned hassling Douglas and forcing Doherty to pass / run things instead.

We definitely disrupted well, set out our defensive stall and battled for everything. Converting two half chances, unless Cash meant his speculative ball which I believe he did, as I believe he's just as good as prospect as Mr B. Losing him pre-season was a huge blow for the team imo.

Maybe it was all Karanka. Tweaking what we always had.

Karanka is a lucky boy though. Expiring contracts, great youth, a few solid professionals (granted, ageing), mid-table, money to spend (?), a solid passing game (when mixed with other tactics)...pressure is not really on. He's going to get the summer and at least until Xmas.

How many of our managers can say that.

Outside of that, the club is lucky. No more Fawaz. A gradual increase in managers worth, not based on our league position, or size of club, but based on off the field efforts. There has been a lot of change and improvements, despite the mis-steps.

I suppose I've gone off topic, but when MW left I felt far from rudderless, more like a ship that needed another captain, even if it wasn't to the port of La Liga Del Campeones (likely wildly mis-spelled and grammatically incorrect).

Step up Karanka.

We were surprised when we got MW. Karanka on paper, even better. Hopefully the Wolves display akin to the progress being made.

But yes, one result at a time. As the Wolves fan rightly said, we'll get our day in the sun if we carry on like I hope and feel we can. Time on the telly etc.

But still...its very positive.

Can’t help but be impressed by the performance on Saturday. Has helped to smooth the passing of Warburton. I think if Karanka had followed up with another defeat after the Villa game, it Would have left things flat.

Let’s see how Forest progress as one thing is for sure, the Reds currently have an outstanding knack of following a good performance with an indifferent one!

To Hull and back!

Yep, Wolves have always been backed by decent crowds. Big city and the areas to the west and north to pick up support from with only really Stoke to compete for support.

And let’s face it, they might be in the Prem but Stoke really is the land that time forgot...

I expected Forest to be first featured match, instead we just got the goals half way through the programme.

I can find no reference to 'that bint' on channel five although I recognise her voice from BBC radio commentary, so perforce must remain nameless.

I've got used to Forest being overlooked except if we look like being relegated.
