5/10

Thought they tried to fit too much in and it ended up being pretty mediocre with nothing that will stay in the memory for long.

Hobbit was good I thought

Surprised you didn't like it Metro

The big problem was that it was always going to be compared to the LOTR trilogy.

But even still, the effects were worse, the tone was off and the narrative too thin for three 3 hour movies. Almost like butter, spread over too much bread... anyone ?

Hobbit should definitely have been a 2 part movie rather than 3.

Regarding the tone, I get your point, but the book is a lot more like that than the LOTR books, seems far more a kids book.

The effects considering the time difference were much less impressive though, too polished at times and some scenes were comedy like (the barrel fight).

Still enjoy watching them, and would give them solid 7.5/10 purely because of how into the material I am, so maybe biased.

I’d agree with this assessment though not as harshly. Gets a. 7 from me.

The Hobbit is a complete mess.

Took what was a nice children's book, and completely ruined it.

Didn’t really feel like a movie tbh, more like watching 2 very good BB episodes back to back.

Watched casino last night, 8/10. Probably give it higher if it wasn't so long.

Is it just me or is pesci the least intimidating gangster? Or have I just seen home alone one too many times?
