Comfortable win for you guys tonight, as predicted. Dons record in Glasgow is woeful, going back a very long time, so no surprise. Sounded like you could have won by a few more?

Out of interest, any idea why you didn’t play Aberdeen in the first 4 months of the league, then play them 3 times inside 2 months? Barking, even for the SPFL.

Dave - think there was a rearranged match in there due to the Betfred Semi Final that Rangers were involved in
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think that is right, was it not the same with Celtic as well? Versus Motherwell maybe?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Similar but not the same. We won the betfred cup semi final

Bossed it. Simple. Aberdeen made to look rubbish. Again. Wouldn’t take a single one of their team.

Ref was abysmal all game. Goalie/CB/whoever made the challenge should’ve been sent off at the penalty as well.

Aberdeen would have no complaint if they were down to 9 men

They were not dirty as such but it was non stop and repeated fouls

Really poor display. Happening a lot this season...

Oh and may I ask the folk that came out with all the drivel last time round about Aberdeen being affected by the speculation around McInnes......

.....what’s your excuse this time!?

😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You not see he had to come out and say he is not interested in the Scotland job at this time!

Damned SFA unsettling the Aberdeen team by doing not approaching him or talking about him in anyway!

Good to see Natural order resume in this fixture

I think my views on Aberdeen and McInnes are pretty clear.

Bang average team.

Lucky to be in third place IMO.

Manager is a nice guy loved by the press. But he isn’t up to the Rangers job.

But he knows it so fair play to him for that.👍

Much better manager than murty though.

Job done for you guys as expected.

With those markings earlier I’m not sure if we’re talking about Rangers or Man City here. 😂

Who knows; keep this up and one day you might win a game against us. 🤔

Genuinely though, sounds like Aberdeen were woeful as they usually are in Glasgow and now to be honest at home against either of the OF.

Murty or someone similar was always going to be the safe bet your club should have taken after Warburton. Quite simple in that he at least knows the Scottish game and will have likely seen most of the players he’s either employing or coming up against.

Whether he lasts the course remains to be seen as does who will still be with you come month end. The idea of letting a number of players go doesn’t make a lot of sense as you’ve badly needed squad depth. Right now you have an element of that. Injuries and suspensions will still hit you as it will others and having decent bodies on the bench will be a must.

I’ll give you that you did no more than expected so less of the big huzzahs. You’re essentailly still a massive steaming pile of dung so no changes there.

We've been here before

Murty proved even in his first spell as caretaker that he can get his players to raise their game for the big matches

Unfortunately, throughout his tenure so far, it's been in the bread and butter games where we are expected to win comfortably, that points have been lost

We are away to Ross County on Sunday, if we drop points there, the result last night means eff all

With the resources you have you are expected to beat Aberdeen. Its Celtic you need to beat and so far he has failed twice to beat us, which doesn't help when you park the bus.

Stevie - harsh on Murty. That’s not a trait that’s exclusive to his rangers team specifically either

Its not harsh at all IE, its stating the facts.

When he was caretaker last season, we went to Celtic Park with a poor side and got a result.....but lost games away to Dundee and ICT

This season, after Murty took over from Pedro, we have won away to Hearts, away to Hibs, twice at home against Aberdeen and once at Pittodrie.

Sandwiched in amongst those games, we've seen utterly woeful performances at home to Hamilton, away to Dundee, and a 3-1 drubbing at home by St Johnstone, and a 2-1 loss away to Killie.

This has been a trait under Murty, so when you see articles stating "what a difference a good manager makes"....its a bit premature.

Lets see that consistency first

Spot on Stevie.

WE need to now go on a winning run. Last night was a dominate performance for 80mins and we should have been out of sight.

Plenty of options now in the squad for rotation etc if players are tired etc.

Hopefully we can put together a wee run now and cement 2nd along with closing the gap

Aye, because under Warburton and Pedro you think we would've won the last 3 against Eberdeen?

Both of those managers were totally limited and had no idea how to change a game. Their substitutions (and timings of) left you baffled too.

Murty isn't afraid to change things when he sees that things aren't working - you could possibly use his substitution of Morelos last night as testament to this.

Nah I think it is harsh on Murty. I’m not saying your factually incorrect, but it’s been a rangers trait of the last few years before Murty was Manager. It’s more a Rangers trait than Murtys .

I agree with your general point tho about having to get the consistency . It’s so frustrating seeing us won the “ big games” then drawing at home to Hamilton etc.

Hopefully under Murty we can find consistency

Consistency is important in any sport but it requires a certain level of player and we didn't have that before this window. We no longer need to play Peña nor rely on Hodson. The new signings are a cut above these guys and should bring consistency, Whilst Murty has not beaten Celtic ....Rogers hasn't beaten Rangers under Murty !!

Coop Now Murty has made some signings we need to hope that we will find the consistency

Beating Aberdeen 3 times gave us 9 points

12 points were dropped in games against Hamilton, Dundee, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone

Do I think we would've beaten Aberdeen 3 times under Pedro or Warburton.....no

But would I have expected us to beat Killie, Dundee, Hamilton or St Johnstone under them.... absolutely

Hence the point, how is Murty a better manager just because the games we won were against better teams?

If anything, it's even more frustrating to see the team be just as inconsistent under Murty as Pedro and Warburton, precisely because Murty has got results in the tough games that Warburton and Pedro would've struggled in

Beating Aberdeen doesn't instantly make Murty better.....we just have a different manager with a different problem, that is resulting in the same amount of points being dropped

posted on 25/1/18

I see what your saying Stevie , I think best too judge Murtys consistency going forward from now as he’s had time to work with the current players in training and has obviously now added his own signings. Hopefully that gets us the consistency we need
