“Classic happy clapping response”

Na. It’s just I was brought up on Paisley, Kenny and to an extent even Houllier and Rafa. Give the manager time and don’t have a hissy fit the minute we lose a couple of games on the trot.

Can’t stand Mcfans like you.

City are financed by an oil rich country, with few human rights. Liverpool have to be funded by earned income. The mistake the club made was not investing in the stadium during their glory years.

Liverpool and United don't do business simple as. Also Mkhi is 29 with no re sale value meaning we can't make a profit if we were to sell him.

As for the Coutinho money, it has been spent. Ox last summer, VVD this window and Kieta in summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Klopp has confirmed the money is available to spend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kash knows better than the manager though.

You need to go and support City or Chelsea. It’s obvious you don’t like supporting Liverpool.

I'm not sure how an individual response can be classic but hey ho.

They spent loads when they came in and changed their approach a bit. We've got to many finals but not got over the line.

That must really annoy you. You didn't pick to "support" Liverpool to be nearly men did you.

This a fair comment. Moores et al didn't do enough plus we p!ssed a lot of money up the wall and that started with Souness.

Ultimately though Chelsea and City getting bought out has made things a whole lot harder. Tough titties for us but fair play to them.

Agreed Robbing, except for the fair play to them part. It wasn't very fair at all, they should not have passed the proper owners test, but it's too late now.
As I've said before I've a soft spot for Pool ever since my first away game solo, when I was helped by two scousers. I consider you a proper club, our main rivals, and don't like the hatred around now. In Shanks and Busby's time there was respect.

Ive not had a go at the manager. Not calling for his head. Just questioned decision from the club. I am well in my right to do that. Doesn’t make me a City fan

I wish H&G hadn't passed the fit and proper test. Apparently they just tested Hicks and took his word when it came to Gillette!

I don't really mean fair play to the clubs as much as the fans. I've had a great ride with LFC and now it's their turn. You will have seen some shocking times with Utd I'll bet! I remember when half your team was drunk and you had Mark Robbins up top!

Yes the fans, particularly the City fans deserve some good times, they stuck with the club in bad times, and with humour.
Yes I've supported us when we were poor, but still enjoyed it oddly enough.

Having kids changed football for me. I became FAR more relaxed about it and actually look for entertainment as much now. I've seen some absolutely insane games under FSG

We've also been to four or five finals under then in as many years so perception could have been so different. A half test of knowing you have a decent manager is watching opportunity fans call for his head after two loses and they're out in abundance at the moment.

There is a line in fever pitch which says the best thing about football is that there is always anoyhet season.

Next year and all that.

I'd rather have two amazing footballers replace Cout and Sturridge but not if it means vastly overpaying or getting players who just aren't good enough. The dream is a youth player gets some chances and smashes. Nothing like local lads in the side for me.

Agree with all that, and feel the same about my club and football in general.

I've never really understood all that "No room for sentiment in football".

Yes there is!

It's all about heroes and icons, nostalgia and memories.

If it's entirely about winning things then they may as well shut the football league.

Again I agree. If all i want is a result I can sit at home with my computer and get the scores and study the table. It's about the experience, the ups and downs, and mainly about watching great players do things that make your jaw drop.

Games where the lead changes loads are the ones for me.

I was watching the highlights yesterday of Liverpool vs Norwich when Lallana scored deep into injury time. Crazy.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ypqSHK2VgSQ

Lovrens header against Dortmund was absolutely mental. Sheer unabated joy. Being 4-1 up against an unbeaten City side knowing my team absolutely has it in their locker to completely fvck it up was like watching a good horror film. Arsenal games. Finals. Penalty shoot outs.

That's just in two years

The best for me
Watching Bobby,Dennis and George goes without saying.
Gordon Hill, Robbo, Robbo, Eric and Scholes, and Berbatov who I loved.
We had a few fight backs too.

John Barnes, Dalglish, McManaman, Fowler, Hamann, Berger, Jones, Garcia, Hyypia, Alonso and of course Gerrard. Many more tbh. Says a lot that Rush doesn't come at the top!

Since then thoroughly enjoyed watching Suarez, Torres and Coutinho.

bit stupid that he wasnt looking for someone to replace cout when he new he wanted to leave then isnt it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don’t actually know the timeline of events regarding Coutinho, do we??? He could have finally downed tools a week before he left, meaning we haven’t necessarily had time to find a suitable replacement????

posted on 30/1/18

No evidence that he had downed tooled. That would have got leaked but instead all we hear is what a great professional he was for us.

posted on 30/1/18

Well apart from the summer....... when downed tools.

Yeah he said he might not have been the same player during the second half of the season or something like that. Something must have gone on.

Couts wanted to go and forced the club's hand. LFC had no choice.

Klopp said that the Brazilian had lost interest in playing for the club.
‘You cannot use him if he’s not 100 per cent,’ he said. ‘Philippe Coutinho is a world-class player but if he’s not 100 per cent, he’s not that international class or Premier League class any more. You lose the grip
Players are different. I’ve had this very often. When they’ve lost one opportunity, you will never get the same player again. It would have been very difficult if we had said, “There’s your contract and you have to stay here”. Did I think I could still use him? Could he help us still? To be honest, it was 100 per cent clear, no chance.
‘He was not ready to do that any more. The club tried everything.
‘We had a lot of talks about how we can do this or that but if somebody denies, then it is clear the decision is done. At some point you need to accept it and that is what we did.

Or we could ask CFC who is actually John Henry.

posted on 30/1/18

I fully expect the club to make that statement to save face. Tell Coutinho you don’t wanna play then good luck getting in the Brazil team. That what United or Chelsea would have told him. That what RBL have told Kieta.

Just cos a statement is written in a way does not mean it’s the truth. I lie to our customers all the time. We are on a need to know basis.
