Surprised Ozil has done this, he must know the club is in turmoil and he’s getting on so you’d expect him to want to compete for the big trophies. Maybe if Wenger fecks off this summer Arsenal might do that. Big gamble though.

I find this hard to believe, but if true fair play to the club for putting its money where its mouth is for once.

If there’s one thing that can make a player ignore the fact that you’re 6th in the league it’s a huge pile of cash. United would know all about that.

Had Ozil seen out the remaining few months of his previous contract, he could've moved to United for free in the summer and earned way more there than he would have done with Arsenal.

Man, the knowledge of that must really sting them.

I have a feeling, he must have got some sort of way out clause in his contract by means of which he can still leave season starting in 2019 on some sort of terms.

I also think we should go for Europa win it and get back in CL if not then just make sure we don't have any distractions next year like Chelsea and LCFC and just play PL football..I personally would want Ancelloti to take over in summer but if Wenger has decided to see out his contract then at least he will have one last proper shot at PL next season and having no European distraction might help.

Apparently we have contract worth 350K/week on table for Sanchez but he still wouldn't sign as he had made his mind to leave AFC. So we had no choice. Having said that, if Sanchez had signed that contract we would have let Ozil go in summer because I doubt club would have given 2 bumper 3.5 year contracts to both. Sanchez's departure made it easy to pay Ozil and tie him down to 3.5 years.

he's a brilliant player which any team in the league would want
