If we let Slim go as you say, we'd be short. I cannot see us signing anyone else to be honest, we haven't even been linked to anyone at all have we?

We've still got Vardy, Shinji, Grey, Iheanacho and Diabate that can play up front.

We just won't have a big target man to throw on at the end of a game as Plan B, C or D, but I really don't think that would be Claude's style anyway.

Slightly surprising given that we've already let Leo go.

Also had the thought that it would be a statement as to the style of play we're not going to adopt if both big forwards leave?

Is he any good? Can he finish better than the terrible players we currently have?

He has to be a better player than we have experienced in his time here, our style of play just doesn't suit him. Good luck to him and I hope he does well for you

If you play hoof ball on to his head you'll be fine Alan Shearer would probably beat him for pace today though

Has never looked like he fitted in, or was really happy here.Should be a better header of the ball than he is,has missed a lot of chances.
Good move all round,we dont really need him as other strikers seem more effective.
Will do well at Newcastle, as will be more prolific in Championship !!!

Just saw a Newcastle fan post this about Slimani:.....

"saw him playing in Portugal a couple of times - worked his arris off, was quick and very powerful in the air"

........."QUICK'????? haha

posted on 31/1/18

He has a decent turn of pace for a big lad, but wouldn't call him quick.

posted on 31/1/18

He’s quick when he’s got a chance of bagging ‘it’s all about me’ a goal.

Best thing he's done here is that League Cup goal vs Liverpool.

His goal v Huddersfield wasnt bad.
Im not saying he is great, just dont think he ever
really fitted ibto the way we play.
Could doa good job for the toon though.

about as quick as Iwan Roberts was (or is!!)

As long as he makes some effort to integrate with his new teammates, his goals could be the difference for Newcastle with regard to staying up. He's a gamble due to his apparent arrogance, but the prospect of goals is there.

Slimani has strengths. His atrengths are strong if you play to them.

He’s a more than capable striker in this division.

posted on 31/1/18

hes a capable lump if given a few hoof balls to head.

Oh no, Swansea after Andy King on loan now!!

Suggestions that Slimani has failed a medical at Newcastle. What a palaver if true.
