Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble are much better coaches than useless Shastri.. Unfortunately we have him as coach and lost the golden chance to win series in SA! Hope we don’t repeat same mistakes and win series in England and Australia!

Great win by the team. Don’t think there is anyone out there that can doubt the credentials of Dravid. He is a legend. He and Zaheer Khan were selected as support staff for our senior team too with Ravi shashtri but he and Kohli didn’t want any interference.

I don’t understand why India don’t use the likes of tendulkar, gavaskar and Dravid more often for the senior team. These 3 batsmen combined have succeeded in far more difficult pitches and have faced a variety of quality pace attacks on varied pitches. I can only see them adding value and help improve some of these guys technique to be more tight.

I guess the only issue that comes with Indian cricket is their egos

Viru,

Good analysis, if egos are discarded then we can become one of the best teams in future as we have the talent especially in bowling department after long time. Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly were not that lucky to have much strong bowling support; especially pace in their times!

The thing is lads Tendulkar, Gavaskar or Ganguly have never struck me as quite the coaching types. It’s like most countries pundits really. They would rather have a comfortable job in the studio with probably far better pay than being a coach - each to their own. Dravid on the other hand was never the type to sit in a studio.

Would give the seniors a run for their money...

No 100 today for Kohli. Instead Dhawan notches one up instead. India currently 200/2 in 34.2 overs after play interrupted due to the stormy weather at Jo’burg.
