I should point out that it’s a “mug’s” game as I have been reminded of this throughout my working life.

If you were to bet on the team that was playing Chelsea, you would be quids in.

Do you use these stats in your own betting Admin? Are you basing future bets off the back of this historical data?

Yes and no. You can fall in to the fallacy of overfitting, but mostly in recent years just dabble with the data for AI fun.
JA606 reserves the right to remove user generated content that is not in English or uses big words that we do not understand.
Occasionally the predictive AI optimisation algorithms I write generate their own predictions which in the vast majority of cases match the bookmakers. But every so often, say once a fortnight it throws out a single prediction that completely disagrees with the bookies. That's the ones I look out for. Though the frequency means I'll never generate a meaningful p value anytime soon.
Team Bet Against: Chelsea Total Staked: 26 Profit: 25.45
Does this mean that if you were to bet £1 on the opposition on each of their 26 games, you'd have made £25.45 profit?

yep.

That's really interesting actually. You'd need the balls to keep placing those bets over the course of the season regardless of current form, but I like it.
Good to see you are putting your time to good use Admin.
In short bet against Chelsea coz we're a bit crap this season.
Usually the season right after winning one of the big two trophies as a rule of thumb

Admin..........many moons ago when you were doing these I asked how many variables you used.
I believe the answer was seven...which I said was nowhere near enough....how many do you refer to/use now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's probably about 7 or 8 variables per team.
