I was tempted, the reviews were SO good.
Interesting that you didn't like it - I watched some gameplay and the combat looked a bit weird, like the attacks weren't actually connecting.
My mate bought it and said it’s absolute garbage!

True you don’t feel like you’re in control of the character when in combat , as for them massive swords they take forever to swing, and the stupid bint and cat who tag along on it really wind you up, it’s a pity you couldn’t kill em as I would have enjoyed doing that.
OH my god Hitler, what is it with you and killing animals?
I still haven't forgiven you for shooting that squirrel

I’m unemployed at the moment and getting board.
It's a cracking game, if you don't like a weapon, try another, took me three attempts at mh3 to get in to the series, when I discovered the Lance and fell in love with the game.
Even though it's by far the easiest in the series, it still has quite a high skill level requirement (as the whole game is based on your skill in combat) dependant on weapons, monsters, terrain.
Ultimately, if you felt you weren't in control, you were playing it wrong! It is a difficult game, and most people will struggle without putting a decent amount of time in, learning monsters attack patterns etc, and the carve/craft/kill a bigger monster treadmill isn't for everyone.
